Got one of these boxes a few months back https://shop.nowtv.com/. The free to TV apps that come with it work well (BBc iplayer) but the sky content is a low quality picture with a great deal of buffering. I'm using overplay as a DNS provider. Anyone else on the forums have a play with this box. For 5 pound a month for 10 entertainment channels it's great value, shame it has so many issues.

Hi, would you mind comparing it to the offering from Igloo (as I suspect that's its closest competitor in NZ)? How bad is the quality? Are there any HD offerings?

Sorry cant compare. Igloo is UHF from NZ this is internet from the UK.

AH I see! So there is no UHF service at all? Therefore more like an Apple TV/Roku/Etc but with paid services?

It's sky tv UK, so no they don't broadcast in UHF in N.Z

I think I now understand what you mean. I'm in NZ using this box, not in the UK. All via the internet.

For 5 pounds you are going to get the lowest quality and the fact that you are as far as possible from the UK servers anyone could be will pull down the quality also.

I think streaming from the UK will have a lot more latency than a USA based service ?

VDSL via telecom. Getting 3.16Mbps down and 0.72Mbps up testing a UK server. I used to be with unblock us but switched to Overplay. Not sure Unblock Us supports now TV.
All other streaming services work well, Hulu, BBC iplayer, Netflix and Aereo. Just Now Tv.

I would tend to agree except that BBC iplayer is lag free with a great quality picture using the same Now TV box.

BTW I'm on Telecom VDSL but my connection doesn't go via the transparent proxy. It'll be interesting to see how or if that effects the streaming quality.
