It is legal and you can only access it via US VPN
the $20 package, how does that stack up against amazon?
im finding amazon to have a lot of content but mostly old and not high quality movies etc. even the channels dont get a lot of fresh content.
also is rugby and nrl played on the $20 package?
Slingtv is an american service, so I highly doubt it has any rugby or NRL, as those aren't popular in the US.

That does not make it illegal. Against Sling TV's T&C yes. No different to accessing US Netflix content in NZ.
I'm saying the service itself is legal, as in it's a legitimate service for Americans
Of course, accessing it via a US VPN is another matter
I trialled it awhile ago, and ESPN3 had Super Rugby

I didn't check the resolution, this was through the Sling TV app on the Nvidia Shield TV if that's of any use
It was definitely in HD
For those who watch the rugby on it, is it the same feed as Sky TV with our commentators?

Anyone tried accessing it via Hola?
Games played in NZ have NZ Sky Commentators. Games played overseas typically have their local commentators. Feed is HD, but it's dependent on your internet speed. They are starting to weed out people accessing it from other countries i.e it has a huge range of sports, but I've just noticed Rugby seems to have stopped working in the last few days (all other sports still working) i.e plays for approx 8 sec then stops, still fault finding a solution. Currently using Getflix.
@noroad: Anyone tried accessing it via Hola?
@noroad you should NEVER EVER use Hola. They get your spare bandwidth and sell it to other users (as a VPN exit in other countries) or to botnets. They have a company called Luminati who sells YOUR connection.
I will repeat: NEVER USE HOLA.

I watched the Lions/AB games on ESPN2 US feed and the commentary was Sky's. I guess ESPN didn't bother trying to find commentators in the US to provide commentary on the Sky feed because of their expected low viewing audience.

I only have the dedicated media center machine with Hola on it and a very strong set of firewall (commercial grade firewall) rules for that machine, :-)
