Spark Sport monthly price increasing to $24.99 from 4th September (or your next billing cycle after that date). If added to an existing spark account, you will get a $5 credit per month ie there will be no effective increase. I’m sure bundles like this was one of the things spark argued against when the sky/vodafone merger was proposed?

Comment: Price should be dropped to $9.95 or FREE on account to give value to unplan netflix. I think Spark Sport is doomed at suggested pricing.

Spark FibreMAX using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+. UAP, UAP AC Pro, UAP AC Pro Mesh, Apple TV 4, Apple TV 4K, iPad Air 1, iPhone XR, VodaTV Gen 2. If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

It's not a bundled service... Its an add on that happens to be discounted.

Netflix is a service that's currently bundled with plans on spark.

I'm not a spark account holder but I subscribed to spark sport just for F1 since they began showing F1.
I've canceled my subscription, its cheaper for me to use a VPN and F1TV.com now.
I asked if they'd keep me at the old price and block everything but F1, but no.
I refuse to subsidise other users, plus the app has been a bit flaky lately anyway....

Darn Spark, you were so promising but had to try and grub more money from me, Sky mk2.

I’m thinking about doing the same or switching back to kayo

Have you tried F1TV? Does it work alright?

I have no idea, I only unsubscribed about an hour ago, I can still watch until the end of the month.
Looking at the monthly price of a VPN and the f1 subscription, you get more for less.

If I don't have any success, I'll watch on Mobdro or find a stream like the bad old days.

Funny isn't it, I thought I'd go the legit path and support someone who is different from the dinosaurs that Sky were/are, and the same old grubbing happens.
And to top it of, its not even a complete season.
Screw you Spark.

I also subscribed for F1 but with this price increase I'll also be saying goodbye as not really value for money. Given the lack of live sport at the moment with COVID-19, probably isn't the time to be increasing prices!

Wow.  A 25% increase in price.  More content for a higher price, right?  There must be 25% more hours compared to this time last year.

Those that couldnt see this coming to reduce losses associated with providing high cost content clearly didnt understand the economics.

Shock horror.

Its not money grubbing.  You cant provide the service at a sub-economic price.  Thats unsustainable for any business.  Spark are just like any business - raising prices to ensure that it earns an economic return greater than the project required rate of return.

The only downsides I heard about F1 tv is no chromecast support and you can’t see any sky related interviews, you can only hear them

I’m disappointed spark are increasing the price without adding new features
1, Kayo let you have multi view of main / pit lane / driver view / stats channels
2, sparks layout is crap. You still have to scroll the front page to find the live race and not in the F1 section
2, chromecast support is still buggy
3, the feed is 40+ seconds behind my overseas friends

Hmmm, unsure if this was in response to my OP or Spyware’s comment but I don’t really see a difference between the Netflix “bundle” and this spark sport “add on” that happens to be discounted... as the Netflix unplan “bundle” is effectively just the unplan with a $10 Netflix add on from what I can see...

I was happy with the content I had at the same price, even with a truncated season and yeah, it is grubbing, if the business model is unsustainable at the initial level, why'd they even bother in the first place? I don't need an economics 101 lecture to know they are trying to grub more money from me.

There's a big difference between kneeling down and bending over, but bend over if it suites you, I have other options.

Oh, and the crux of the biscuit, is the apostrophe?

Thanks for the info, I'll give Kayo a try if F1TV doesn't satisfy.

Sounds right up my alley.

If only these companies would relinquish the outdated F1 contract, then we could just pay Liberty the money instead of relying on substandard NZ outfits who just never seem to get it right.

Spare the histrionics. Spark don't owe you a thing. If you don't make them money why would they care about you? It's a business and if you don't like it go elsewhere.

I have, I know they don't care about me, they just want to grub more money, classic Spark.

Spare the lecture.
