Queensland must be really worried about it - they are bombarding ads on Facebook. Here just three examples:

I saw them on my feed 3rd hand too
You can see why when you look at the tracking details.
2 public transport trips and multi public places (2 supermarket and a bookstore)

Not the best after opening the quarantine travel yesterday. At least the returning still have to on return.

It really shows the massive risks to NZ and Australia and why Australia is so keen to proceed with their vaccine rollout ASAP. NZ on the other hand seems happy with our very late rollout.

Brisbane has just gone into a 3 day lockdown, 9 cases detected ( likely all the Variant strain)

In the meantime insisting on a negative test before getting on a plane should help. Will be interesting to see what impact it has.

Was about to edit my prior to say this.
However, kicks in at 6pm (cue panic shopping)

Can stil go to work if wfh is not possible.
So basically the whole warehouse 'but we're essential' saga all over if people want to try it on. Just need to do so while wearing a mask away from home.

113 days, back to 0

And possibly 5 days behind tracing

Just like the person who commented on nz ad today 'why scan qr codes, we only need them if someone has it in community'. Well, this is why.

Getting a negative test within THREE DAYS before boarding. Big difference. Its a help, but you then have up to three days to work live and play with the rest of the population in a high risk country.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Correct, but it's better than not doing it, and it might highlight to the individual to keep themselves out of harms way as much as possible in the days before getting the test and while waiting for the result. After all positive result and the trip is off. It feels like some of these travellers just don't care. Covid? Oops. We'll fix it at the NZ end. There's no Covid there.

Pre flight testing is not a magic fix. It's something that should have been happening for a long time now (120+ countries around the world and numerous airlines already demand it) but it is good that we are now doing it.

People can still be infected prior to their flight, or during the flight, but taking every step we can to prevent an infected person arriving in NZ is what we need to be doing. Every person who has Covid here is a possible source of CT should it escape, so even one less person arriving here with the virus is one less chance of that happening.

I really don't understand why people like Siouxsie Wiles are so anti this happening, but she lost all credibility months ago when she starting politicising everything she says which is why most media basically won't touch her now.

When someone brings forward their schedule someone else gets pushed back in a scenario of limited supply?

According to the PM, it is when we finish the roll out not when we start. It sent chills down my spine to her hear her say that.

Border Force. Every traveller coming into the UK must have a negative Covid test or face £500 fine.

not sure why, we will probably have the whole country vacinated before most other big countries , the USA being the main one.

That's far from being correct.

The US will finish their vaccine rollout (even at current speeds) well before NZ. They'll potentially have well over 2/3 of their population vaccinated before we even start. Most Western countries plan on having their vaccination programs complete well before the end of 2021.

Out vaccine rollout isn't scheduled to be complete until the end of Q1 2022 - the US is scheduled to be competed well before the end of 2021. Remember Biden has even doubled down a week or so ago on his target of 100 million vaccinated within his first 100 days in office. They will have the vaccines, their problem has been logistics.
