Common sense is not as common as you think.

who is already in an isolation facility

I read of rushed big a wedding that occurred late last night before the lockdown, after the lockdown was announced. Couldn't that be a mass spreader event?. Surely they should just bring the restrictions like mass gatherings in straight away, rather than give people a grace period, as teh virus doesn't work to these rules. IMO people shouldn't be trying to beat the systems in place or find grey areas and loopholes. But kiwis love to do that.

so what about 8000 people at a boxing event? hundreds in clubs, no difference really.
Police and defense take time to get checkpoints up
MikeB4: @tdgeek it’s interesting and concerning looking at Flightradar24 today and watching the number AirNZ and Jetstar aircraft flying out of Auckland to destinations all around Aotearoa. Never new we had so many important folk here.
Weekends are a very busy time for traveling. There will be somewhere around 6000-7000 people flying out of Auckland on a typical Sunday, and a similar number flying in. Even if 50% of people leaving are no longer allowed that's still a lot of people who need to get out of Auckland to get home.
There were no significant flight cancellations today either - they can't just cancel flights with such short notice.

i know but when you just say "Another Auckland Community Case just reported on 1News :-(" i makes it seem like its in the actual community.
there is not much threat of it spreading if they are in a isolation/quarantine facility, and if it does its isolated.

They have already said there are very likely going to be more cases. The question is how many. Last time Auckland had an outbreak, I recall there were 3 deaths as a result and many cases. But this could be worse due to the new strain, if it gets a foothold. I think the government may announce a heavier approach this time to prevent flouters, as they can't afford to let it get a foothold.

It's clickbait. But there are very likely to be more cases in the actual community, so people should be prepared for that.

yes but until then...
people need to post the full story not just the quick story
kiwifidget:
I'm curious what the person administering the test actually said to "M".
When Himself tested last November, the nurse said words to the effect "you're fine, you'll be negative" and I dont think he was specifically told to go home and stay home until he got his results.
What advice was given directly to "M" when he got his test?
There is no requirement to self isolate after a Covid test awaiting for results, and the MoH website and the flyer you get at the time all says this. You are only required to self isolate if you have had symptoms, and the person performing the test will provide you with further information - this is assuming of source that you have actually told them you've had symptoms.
Got me thinking.
If we do get more cases in Auckland say tomorrow and Tuesday and Wednesday. Should I assume that the rest of the country will just go into total lock down for a few days providing there's a link? Or will we stay where we are until there's no more cases and it's contained completely.
Ramblings from a mysterious lady who's into tech. Warning I may often create zingers.
All flights out should have been cancelled end of.
Put up road blocks etc but hey we will let thousands fly out instead.
So now it could be transferred out of Auckland to where ever they are traveling.
Sorry I cannot see the logic behind that.
