Unless he consented to be named, that's a spectacular breach of privacy by the AFR naming the man, when AFAICT he did nothing wrong.
I hope he sues.
Getting a bit OT, but I don't think the AFR or Herald has done anything illegal (although perhaps immoral or unethical). AFAIK, there's no suppression order on the information, either here or in Australia. In which case, the test is whether it is defamatory and/or known to be untrue. IANAL.
