Including those who don't scan the QR codes. Keep scanning the damn QR codes people.

I don't have a phone, I can't scan, most places have stopped putting out sign-in sheets.

You should get one. Even if it's a cheap and cheerful sub $150 thing. I wouldn't want to get caught.

Talk about accurate though.

Person flies on plane sharing air with 150 other people possibly while infectious, does touristy things for two days during cold nasty weather where he would have been confined indoors with other people, flies back home while also possibly infectious with another 150 people.

It's a big difference from "guy who stayed home and watched TV all weekend tests positive'

If there's any CT, then given how useless NZers have been with scanning in and the near certainty that this is the Delta variant, then we should lock down very quickly - not wait.

Grandkid arrived on Sunday night but not on either of the flights. Daughter was going to follow in a couple weeks to collect. Her schoolmate was on the flight in question so lucky they didn’t meet up yet for play date as they usually do.

I don't honestly see why anybody is panicking. Further CT in NZ always has been inevitable, and this certainly won't be our last ever case.

Inevitable in the long run, but we had options in the short term. NZ had eliminated CT and had option to keep it so until our vaccination programme was well progressed.

Visits a chemist the morning after arrival. Any chance it was to get some cold and flu medicine?

Based on the scaremongering and panic from people this morning I'm really worried about how NZ is going to move forward. Further cases of CT are still inevitable, and somehow we think we've invincible and that they'll never happen.

I know I've said it many times before but I just don't know how many NZers who have the "we beat Covid" mentality are going to cope with the concept of an endemic virus that is going to harm and kill people for years to come once we open up borders and have vaccinated everybody that wants to be vaccinated.

Couldn't agree more.  And it's about time this wishy-washy, hugs-and-smiles, government grew a pair and started educating and informing the public that Covid is here to stay and will likely cause tens or hundreds of deaths each year. Just like a multitude of other causes, some infectious diseases, that we have to live with.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

And most likely walked there from the Rydges Hotel. How many people did they walk past. Did they cough a number of times on the way into their hand and touch pedestrian buttons etc. Westfield Mall in Sydney there was an infection from someone just walking past the infected one.

That's completely it. Its not a long time off. Friends and family? get fully vaccinated with priority, using proof of travel bookings, then you can go in the bubble. Same with those coming here. MIQ or fully vaccinated? Both workable, the latter is a sound option

I really tire of the "luck" we have had. Despite the odd issues we have had, its not here, thats not luck. But its luck now with this bubble. Human nature is too much of a variable. NSW closed its border, some didnt comply, went to Bondi, you will never stop that, its common. Go back to March 2020 in NZ or AUS, happens all the time

And many reasons why a healthy person coughs or sneezes that aren't health related.

I can imagine that chemist is going to be inundated with reporters asking what he bought! If it was cold and flu, holy cow the brown stuff will hit the whirring thing..
