Went for a long bike ride this afternoon. It was sunny and very little Wellington traffic except for buses with no passengers.
It was great to have a good work out because sitting around the house, although one of my favourite hobbies, isn't good for you.
The best thing was, I'm not the health minister so it doesn't matter who sees me : -)
Its one thing to flout the rules that have been put in place for us all to adhere to, its quite another to publicly advertise that you are flouting the rules.
Except no rules are being flouted. Is it wise? Maybe, maybe not. Both physical and metal health and physical is one of the most important things people can focus on right now, and exercise plays a very important part of that.
To suggest going for a "long" bike ride is flouting rules however is simply not correct.
Police guidelines are very clear.
