Batman: Watching Euro final at Wembley in London crowd looks close to 90,000 packed.

Meanwhile last year's covid party host has won overnight also in London, more tennis grand slams than anyone this year, in fact he won all of them.

Goodwood was also on this last weekend, but apparently part of a series of events with high requirements for entry (e.g. must vaccinated, must use scanning at locations - apparently down to the individual stalls/garages etc for different competitors which is a big sprawling infield complex, etc).

I get the feeling this is all well and good for Covid as we knew it but it's pretty obvious things are different now and strains can infect people who just happen to be passing by. Not sure how contact tracing will go if one of these variants pop up amongst a crowd of thousands a week or two down the line.

I doubt they will bother with tracing, Sydney is struggling to cope and that's a drop in a bucket compared to the UK. Get vaccinated is the only advice they will give probably

112 cases in Sydney overnight.

Not unexpected news, apparently Gladys Berejiklian gets running reports of the cases as they come in, from 16 hours before they're announced.

From ABC news

The Victorian government has revealed a person from Sydney with COVID-19 travelled to Victoria and South Australia while infectious last week.

The person, who works as a removalist and was working during the trip, stayed overnight in Victoria on July 8, before travelling to South Australia on July 9, and then returned to Sydney.

The man was tested on July 10 and returned the positive result yesterday.

The Victorian government expects to list a number of new exposure sites shortly.

Health Minister Martin Foley said contact tracers were waiting to speak to the man to establish his movements in Victoria.

The cut off for inclusion in NSW's numbers is 8pm on the day before, so with an 11am announcement that means there has been all the overnight test results and a fair chunk of those run first thing that are "known"

And Sundays are a quieter day normally. Let's see if we can push the upper 100's tomorrow.

Really are shooting themselves in the foot being this far behind the ball. 1 in 20 at a testing centre going +. NZ take note.

Someone studied Marketing and Statistics in the same year :-)   Or works in the media....

On a more serious note I got my L3 you can book now Covid text. Called in, long wait time as I guess bulk texts, so booked online. 5 minutes, easy, I now have dates for doses 1 and 2

I was expecting a drama based on info here, but it was good. Chose the closest from the range of centres, chose my day, chose my time.

Seems after a hurry up the remainder got a message that they can expect an invite for Aug/Sep by the end of this month. Basically a 'this is us calling you, but not really just yet'. I've had to put my hand up due to role and did the same. Not until Aug 3 for first slot.

It happened because there was no statement on Saturday, and the Sunday statement covered 48 hours,

Someone obviously forgot to set it back to 24hrs for the weekly statements...

I've got that message too.... it's like saying you have a Lotto ticket but we don't know which date the draw will be.

But at least I have a ticket!
