This dosen't give much confidence. You also have to ask where the graph (graphic) came from.

That 'sketch' is from mid March. Anyone with an ounce of common sense and who is accustomed to graphs and data will immediately realise that the first shot is below the red line and the second shot is between the red line and the blue line. Poorly drawn at the ends. The blue line can never go below the red line.

The actual graph released on the Ministry of Health website (further down in the linked article) is also incorrect around March.

In March it can only be the first dose and should be the darker shaded colour.

Travelers from VIC to WA now go into 14 days isolation.

From VIC to NZ they get a pre-departure test, and we cross our fingers... (and we are actively encouraging people to travel ASAP, so volume of travelers will be high)

Just noticed something.

So apparently after some prodding, CDHB sent out txt messages to all parties they have details for 2 weeks ago. Be it an urgent invite or a notice saying you can expect an invite this month. And on the covid19 site it talks about the booking site launched along with it

https://covid19.govt.nz/covid-19-vaccines/how-to-get-a-covid-19-vaccination/booking-your-vaccination-appointments/book-my-vaccine/

People at the office here have had their notifications. And subsequent invites - soon after registering somewhere on CDHB directly after answering some health questions (IE not the official 'book my vaccine'). While others have not had even the 'expect by end of July' one. Presumably wrong details, like they had for me (oops don't use the Electoral role to compare and chase you up)

The actual URL looks to be well hidden and doesn't appear to be caching or searchable by google. Other than following it from your txt message. Now if you go to it without a booking ref, (which it doesn't ask for up front but part way through) it more or less says no availability.

Yet at the above URL and standups, Minister said if you were worried they didn't have your details, you could verify with DoB etc and add additional contacts.

Register your details

People waiting for their age band to start will be able to register their details on Book My Vaccine from 28 July. Once bookings are open for your age band, you will get an email or text letting you know it’s your turn to book.

It'd be kinda handy if you let the URL be known and found lol

But from workmates they tended to think it didn't look to have a 'register' option or ability to save what you enter.

Snap....

The other fishing vessel, Playa Zahara,  which was reporting "flu like symptoms", has now been confirmed as having 16 of 18 crew as positive for COVID...

its now heading for MIQ in CHC

https://www.health.govt.nz/news-media/media-releases/playa-zahara-update

Now the most interesting thing about this boat was...

"On Tuesday, Port Taranaki chief executive Guy Roper said the vessel had been at sea for more than three weeks, so there has been no contact with others or any crew changes."

This implies the vessel has been possibly telling porkies about its contact with other vessels.,

... now where is that Dr Gregory House quote

I think a probable outcome is that they picked up covid-19 via a crew change more than three weeks ago, and either some of the earlier cases didn't have symptoms, or they were mild, and the decisions was made to deal with them on board, rather than impact production.

A few weeks down the line one of the following:

- Most of the crew is sick so boat can't produce anyway

- Somebody is sick enough that they shouldn't really be at sea

- Boat needed to come into port anyway (say to offload catch), and declared the sickness on board as per normal protocol

Does raise the issue of why we are allowing these foreign flagged fishing vessels to operate in our EEZ, and come into our ports as part of normal operation.

We have banned Small recreational boats (except NZ flagged / crewed), Super yachts (other than refit exemption), and cruise ships (other than refit exemption). Shouldn't International fishing boats be added to the list. The fish can just be left in the sea for the rest of the pandemic. Might do the eco-systems good.

They were high seas fishing operating outside of the NZ EEZ.

Since 2016 all vessels operating in the EEZ must be NZ flagged, .

Par for the course from the Ministry of Health. It's not the first time, their default position seems to be to obfuscate.

The 65 cases in NSW - they did almost 60,000 tests (that's much higher than a few days ago).  Probably too early to say it's starting to look better, but fingers crossed...

And 2 new cases in Vic - linked to the MCG.  6,500 isolating in Vic.

The Melbourne lockdown seems all but a done deal.  And a smart move IMO.  Should know after 5:00pm our time.

"Gladys Berejiklian warns that COVID-19 numbers in her state are likely to worsen in NSW tomorrow."
