“If customers become aggressive and refuse to wear a mask, the advice from the police is that our supermarket team members should not enforce this as it is simply too dangerous.
Sensible, but would have hoped police be called in, also?

Damn, thats my supermarket. I know 2 of the staff there.
Hopefully it's just someone with severe mental health issues.

Did none of you watch the prime minister's briefings over the last couple of days ?
The exact question of delay related to LOIs came up
The PM's answer: if LOIs are rushed out with wide brackets of time and then later corrected, for either time or location, a lot of people are forced into unnecessary tests.
What do you want? Fast information or accurate information?
We need and expect fast, accurate information.
The fact that nearby a day on from Bloomfield being questioned about sites that he knew about and these still not being published is simply a joke.
Despite the PM insisting the country is in lockdown so time taken to get these locations out is not of the essence, it is. There are ~550,000+ essential workers (based of L4 data from last year, it could be even higher this year due to the changes) in this country going about their day to day work as normal. It's imperative that these people in particular know about these locations so they can further stop possible spread.

FWIW, according to news reports I have seen and read, two (live in Miramar) flew back, one (in Johnsonville) drove.
The J'ville places of interest are from the person (~18 year old?) who drove back.
There is one 'location' of interest so far for the Miramar couple(*) - "Flight NZ 445 Auckland to Wellington, 5pm-6pm"
Wellington airport ~6pm will possibly get added later? The depends what transport home
(* Think I saw/heard it was a couple though cannot find a link to that at the moment).
OK, info does seem to be murky.
Article below now says "One person travelled by flight, NZ 445 Auckland to Wellington on Sunday, August 15 .." ".. FlightRadar suggests the flight landed in Wellington at 6.17pm."
Earlier this morning, a similar article in Stuff was saying, two.
And despite the PM's answer on the Q&A, the delay in getting some of the info out seems 'puzzling' (to put it kindly)
From the above article: "It’s not known how many people travelled on the flight or where the person was sitting."
Really! How can it take more that a few hours to confirm that information with certainty

It seems a lot more business are working for contactless delivery this year compared to last year. Don't know if it's a change in rules or finding loop holes.

You're going to love this afternoon's update then...
It's unfortunate I didn't buy popcorn before lockdown and leaving the house to buy any is too much effort!

Derp reporter George Block at Stuff devotes almost half of one sentence to explain in detail why anonymous man is screaming at the clouds.
P*ss-poor reporting - against any public interest.
To be honest, it sounds similar to what I had during the August outbreak last year. Rung up by a contact tracer and advised I'm a close contact. Wasn't told where or when, but was told I would be contacted when it was time to have my tests done.
I'm still waiting for any further phone calls following it up from anyone at Auckland Health.
I just carried on getting my regular tests done which my employer required, which came back negative. But informed the testing people before I turned up that I was contacted about being a close contact, they took their normal precautions. I stayed at home.

I want information given within a reasonable timeframe. It's close to 48 hours since these infections were discovered and it's still crickets from MoH. Even the 27 hours for the Johnsonville locations is far too long. The government says it's priority is the health of the population 1st, cost 2nd. So what if some people get unnecessarily tested? The downside of not testing those who necessarily need it is far greater imo.
That said, we don't know if this is a case of MoH being a shambles or if the persons concerned have been difficult (or a combination thereof) although I strongly suspect the former.

I think the answer is both. Rules have changed, and in 12 months lots of places like butcheries have evolved to offering an online presence.
Interesting anecdote about getting the vaccine message across (towards the end of the article - it's short)

From the article (emphasis added)
Countdown general manager Kiri Hannifin said the incident took place at Countdown Church Corner on Friday afternoon when a customer, who had previously been trespassed for abusive behaviour, was refused entry.
“This customer spat on the security guard and refused to leave the store. The police attended and apprehended the customer.”
The 'customer' will be facing two charges already (trespass and assault) and may, with a bit of luck, get denied bail and spend a bit of time inside.

I can understand there may be locations that take time.
That doesn't explain why venues such as Spark Arena still isn't listed for Friday night for the big Bayley's real estate conference. The timeframes for that event aren't going to change, so why can't that be listed ASAP? It's been in the media since last night due some high profile people being there (Jeremy Corbett was MC and got pulled from The Project just before 7pm when he heard).

Yes, I know they did in that particular case (person spat at a security guard). Edit: and of course, as you highlighted that person "had previously been trespassed for abusive behaviour". Not really a simple case of refusing to wear a mask.
There is no indication police would be called in the future in the normal run of events (no spitting, just refusing to wear a mask).
How is the message going to get across without at least token enforcement.
If it becomes clear there are no consequences to not wearing a mask, the current high compliance will start to drop off as it has previously (as per public transport ...).
Coromandel wastewater negative so far
