Short term inconvenience for long term normal living.

Its probably more like Short term inconvenience for you, so that I get long term normal living. Id love to see a survey of if you had possible symptoms would you get a test?

@Fred99:

@sbiddle:

I'd suggest that it's highly improbable that with all the publicity today that there hasn't been a single Maori family that didn't decide to hop in their car and head to the vaccine centre for prioritised vaccines since they know they don't need to book or wait. Are you suggesting for one minute that the fact that this isn't a good thing? Because that's what I'm hearing from you.

That is 100% pure apologist BS - and you damned well know it is - and was never the intention of Seymour.

Spinning it that way is also 100% pure politics - which seems to be your specialty.

Folks, just leave the damn politics out of this thread.

Are indoor/outdoor contact sports allowed at the new level 2? So far, they said it must be 2m distance and have to wear a mask which will generally kill off most sports.

But, they have not said they are banning sport.

No mandatory scanning, thats a shocker. So we go harder with masks (great) but we ignore contact tracing?

Zeon:

For the current COVID case numbers are they stating whether they are in households of already infected people (i.e. there should be no further "leakage") or are true community cases between "bubbles"?

Kind of. Today for instance 5 were somewhat unexpected/out and about. 15 less unexpected

But have said one of todays is in a big household. So is likely to bring more in coming days. So there are still long tail infections occuring.

Mandatory scanning in some places - should be everywhere.

Ive read testing in under way on cannabis showing promise against covid. Unlikely as a frontline tool.

Not sure if this is a trusted source, not heard of honcode as a standard for trusted health infomation but its looks legit. But its a snippet of similar results Ive read elsewhere (need to start bookmarking what I read), CBD vs sars-cov-2

https://www.news-medical.net/news/20210314/Cannabis-compound-inhibits-SARS-CoV-2-replication-in-human-lung-cells.aspx

This is preprint as well so don't take as fact, not peer reviewed https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33758843/

NZ doesnt have anywhere near the MedCan it was promised during the Ref, which radio and tv was spreading as MedCan dis/misinformation. However with the NZ guys losing a lot of coin right now, if further testing proves beneficial it could widen the audience and hopefully make a tiny dent in the GDP. Im not for or against anymore, but if something pops up out of the Amazon and scientifically proved helpful alongside vax and other measures, Im sure the natural product folk would have a large uptake.

Are there any other products of natural origin in testing?

The Alert Level 2 page which covers a lot, doesnt seem to cover a lot after all.

Mandatory record keeping comes into effect from 11:59 pm on 7 September 2021.

Everyone aged 12 and over legally must keep a record of where they have been when visiting certain places so contact tracing can happen quickly. You must do this at all Alert Levels.

What is a certain place?

Edit: Found it   She also reinforces scanning in or record rules: You must scan at bars, restaurants, cinemas, concerts, churches, and hairdressers.

I had too browse a website that stated this, its not on the updated Level 2 page

Health order 10 has replaced 9

https://www.legislation.govt.nz/regulation/public/2021/0227/latest/LMS541321.html?search=ts_act%40bill%40regulation%40deemedreg_COVID-19+Public+Health+Response+(Alert+Level+Requirements)+Order+10_resel_25_a&p=1

I do see this being challenged by the astute. You will note despite the word 'mandatory' used often, there appears to still be no backing for it. (face covering use)

What if a venue has both Outdoor and Indoor seating ? I can think of 2, maybe 3 large Wellington bars that have larger outdoor seating. Can they have 50 seated inside and 100 seated outside?

The guidance isn't very clear

Not sure if anybody else was watching the interview with Shaun Hendy - but what the heck happened there? Kids running riot?

More logic starting to flow from the Govt. Good question though re certain places.

I still think mandatory mask wearing in public, (not just food, med and transport ie footpaths) during lockdowns should be made law too.

Looked like the cameraman got taken out by someone chasing a topless child.
