Batman:

MOH had 18 months to roll out so you'd hope they've rolled out correctly and record keeping properly

they did take my ID NHI Address etc

did anyone get a vaccine and not have to give details?

They did a flip flop.

No questions asked vaccinations changed to a Chinese wall between MOH and immigration / police.

Probably the right call. Lots of problems with fully anonymous vaccinations:

  • can't follow up if for example some error / issue in vaccination was discovered that day.
  • Hard to impossible to stop people in age groups without approval being vaccianted.
  • Can't stop people who decide they want to boost their vaccine with another dose of two (prior to boosters being approved)
  • Can't follow up on people to remind about 2nd dose.
  • No longer know who hasn't been vaccianted -  Later in the roll out, could have wasted a lot of time phoning and door knocking people that show as not vaccinated in the MOH database, but actually are.
  • Breaks proof of vaccine stuff. What if the person wants to take a job at a MIQ hotel, and has allready been a vaccinated anonymously... Take their word? Give then two more doses (untested for safety profile)? Just tell them to piss off?

Very low vaccination numbers yesterday, but I am not going to read much into that as it is a sunday.

Yesterdays test numbers good or low? And would a Tuesday test appear as a Wednesday case if positive?

And for the facepalm take away from it.. (it starts off sounding like an 'this sounds like a plan' quote - door to door tests AND jabs)

"In some cases, public health staff have been sending mobile testing units to areas where there have previously been cases and encouraging residents to get tested at their home,"

"If you do receive a knock at your door, we'd strongly encourage you to take up the opportunity to get tested and if haven't already been vaccinated, to do so with one of the registered vaccinators on-board the mobile unit."

For these suburbs, there were 705 tests processed yesterday. This number included asymptomatic and symptomatic tests.

Health officials asked people to get tested: "If you are a contact, have visited a location of interest at the specific dates and times, are connected to a suburb of interest or have any symptoms of Covid-19 – even those with very mild symptoms need to get tested and isolate at home while waiting for test results".

James Bond:

12 new cases

Media release here:

https://www.health.govt.nz/news-media/media-releases/12-community-cases-covid-19-more-18-million-second-doses-vaccine-administered-date

Big clash between today media release:

"Cases infectious in the community: Ten (56%) of yesterday’s cases have exposure events
Cases in isolation throughout the period they were infectious: Seven (39%) of yesterday’s cases"

And yesterdays:

"Cases epidemiologically linked: 16 of today’s 18 cases. All 16 have been in isolation at home or in an MIQ."

And one case that doesn't end up in either group...

Very low vaccination numbers yesterday, but I am not going to read much into that as it is a sunday.

it says 10 of today's 12 are linked, 2 unlinked, all in isolation

Great news if true. But not sure I trust if after the change in stance on yesterdays cases.

For comparison, our population here in VIC is about 4x Auckland. Yesterday Auckland did 3,873 tests and VIC did 51,252 or 13x more than Auckland.

Yes, we have a large outbreak here that will drive testing numbers up, however even if I go back to early August when we have <10 cases most days, the lowest number I can find is 21,417, which is about 5.5x the number in Auckland yesterday.

In the 7 days leading up to VICs last 0/"Donut Day" on Aug 4th, the average was 32,310 tests per day (About 8.3 times Auckland's number yesterday, or about double per capita).

So yes - I'd say your testing numbers are on the low side.

Thanks and Ouch. In short we geta  few cases each day, from a low number of tests, leaving others out there, to circulate, go to New World, infect the home

Not great

For all the talk about Vaccine passports in OZ, it looks like they are simply a nudge,  and once NSW hits 90% Double Dose they will be removed

"At the 80 per cent rate, travel will resume through regional New South Wales and fully vaccinated people will be allowed to have 10 visitors at home. Community sport will also resume.

Restrictions will also be removed for fully vaccinated people attending weddings, funerals and hairdressers.

Unvaccinated people will only be allowed to attend places of worship.

A third stage has been set for December 1, when it's expected the state will have reached 90 per cent double-dose vaccination.

On that date, unvaccinated people will be subject to the same rules as those who've been vaccinated.

Masks will no longer be required indoors, and nightclubs will re-open."

I just gave my details verberly, Name and DOB, Address. She entered them onto a laptop. But there was No request to provide proof of ID. Was that normal process for walk ins ?

What do NSW use for a vaccination certificate ?
Given the depth of protest against anything I expect a roaring trade in counterfeits.

Anyway nice of them to test this out for us so we can see how it goes.
We certainly have our own Evangelical groups and associates that seem to have signaled they will not vaccinate.
Some will actively not co-operate in any measures unless forced.

Gangs well given there is an argument that vaccination is good for business, and upper levels are in vulnerable age groups.
Maybe... Though young prospects may see more openings to advance if something happens to their seniors.

Prostitutes' collective were interviewed and indicated more pressure to work as usual.

Auckland if you look at the map of LOIs they spread across Auckland, so really difficult to slice bits off.
North Shore might think they should be carved out to join Northland, but how many work in central west, east or south ?

I predict that Hairdressers will be the next big battleground, some maybe working from home on social media already.

Potentially interesting times ahead for some people trying to travel internationally if the government is not able to verify their C19 vaccination status.

same. they took details, that's the NZ way of ID, they took your ID and mine. even elections is the same.

in Australia formal ID means you need 100 points to prove your ID.

People (babies) born in NZ are given an NHI number.

Young people that emigrate to NZ with their family get an NHI number the first time they visit a Doctor.

12 to 15 year olds have some form of School ID.

Hopefully all vaccinated including casual walk-ins will get connected to an existing database for something.

I guess as long as we can account for 90% properly will be good enough.

Might end up with a relatively small list of vaccinated people that can't be connected to anything.
