No.  They used to be just  a bunch of noisome pests that were laughed at and ridiculed.  Now they're close to becoming a criminal fraternity with potential to cause real damage to society.

OK great well the Auckland community is almost at 90% (89% AFAIK), so on that premise it is time to put Auckland at level 2, but continue to isolate Auckland from the rest of nz whilst they catch up.

As vaccine effectiveness looks to decrease after 5-6 months (the UKs jump in cases is partly blamed on this), I am surprised that any vaccine requirement wouldn't require the vaccine to have been administered within this period, or a boaster being required if the vaccination was outside 5-6 months?

True. The vaccine passports need to have an expiry date on them. Either 6 months for everyone or have a sliding scale tied to age so elderly people have shorter expiry dates.
Also, the vaccination rate total should separate out those who had the vaccine more than 6 moths ago.

There are groups within Auckland who are far away from reaching 90%. I think his comment is trying to separate out the average rate and the rates across all group when they talk about targets.

Agree, it appears to be when all demographs  within an area reach 90%, not when the area reaches 90% of all the population.

Nice ideology from Labour, but the stark reality of achieving that may be impossible and to what depth do they go with "communities"?

Maori/Pacific purely by ethnicity or do they break that into age groups too? Same for Europeans, Asians etc etc

Some communities will never make it to 90%... So all the hoopla and drive to get people vaccinated so they could enjoy the summer and Xmas out of lockdown may now be gone because of the few who won't get vaxxed?

If something along those lines comes out in todays 10am press conference then I'm sure there will be civil unrest.

From Andrew Little and if restrictions (I'm reading between the lines equals lockdowns) Why would he not say restrictions for those unvaccinated..?

"Covid-19 restrictions will continue until all groups reach 90 per cent vaccination rates, Health Minister Andrew Little says."
