@Dial111: Vaccinations cause autism.

Not sure if you are serious or joking. You know the study that was originally published on The Lancet with this assertion has been completely debunked and retracted, right?

Report it. Mods will take appropriate action. I presume he was being sarastic and didn't bother with /s to indicate, if not see my comments above that deal with it :)

As there was no indication of sarcasm and has been no response from the poster I think it should be deleted too.

Of course it’s a joke. I saw it on Facebook.

As a 80s baby, lining up with your class at the school library to get your vaccinations in primary was a test of courage, watching other kids cry was awesome!

Has anyone run into an Anti Vaxxer before? I got a story :)

On valentines day the boys all take ourselves out of a boys night. About 10 of us just having a few beers in Takapuna all going well. Some older than us ladies join us for the banter and all is fine.
About 2 hours later and after 2 bottles of GH Mumm gone they were a little far gone, one of them start harping on about Anti Vaxx and how there are these things called agitants in Vaccines that are like heavy metals that are designed for mind control blah blah, the boys were like wozah this lady is freaking insane. I kept on listening to see what she had to say and how nuts it was, boy it was nuts. She was saying how her kids were not allowed to see their cousins cause they were not vaccinated, her doctor fired her because apparently she "Knew too much". All this and her mate was just sitting there going "Oh god she started again"

A couple we know have got an au pair because their kid isnt vaccinated and they are too embarrassed to tell the daycare, easier to avoid the situation. That's how we read the situation anyway. Suffice to say our opinion of them nosedived. They also read Conspiracy magazines....

How do I delete someone’s comment?

You need to become a moderator.

But I'm sure that is in the category of: You can only be chosen. And if you ask, you will never be chosen.

Thanks for your reply, my comment was not intended to be serious. Didn’t translate well 🥴

Cheers,
Joseph

I am a retired paediatric nurse of 23 years, 20 of those in Sydney and 3 in Tauranga. I have nursed measles, chickenpox kids etc and it is not nice and even harrowing in some cases.

Though Sydney has an anti-vaccination group it is nothing compared to what Tauranga has. BUT just prior to retirement I had a success story. A pre-teen came in with raging full body chickenpox, he was in agony and with the pustules severely infected. The mother was an anti-vax believer. All four of her children had never been vaccinated (one older and 3 younger than her infected son). Seeing her son the way he was, she was in tears and unconsolable remorse. We provided professional counselling. Prior to leaving ALL her children had started a regime of catch-up immunisations.

Here is an article just published by the BBC the other day. Teen has vaccinations after asking Reddit

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

nakedmolerat: I think most here need to open their eyes and understand how dangerous vaccination is. The chemicals in vaccines cause obesity, premature diabetes, premature hypertension and global warming.
You forgot Retardation and speaking in foreign languages.

Yes, a very good friend of mine and his wife are vegan anti vax PETA patrol warriors. His wife continuously tries to shove her agenda and beliefs down everyone’s throats on Facebook, she was one of the reasons I ended up deleting my FB account, it was easier to delete my account than having to explain to my mate why I unfriended her, plus it saves my brain cells from the rest of the idiots on FB.

Winning!

Anyone keen to start a thread about PETA/Anti Vax/SJW's?

I'll contribute if one is made. But only if Flat-Earthers are included.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... PETA = People Eating Tasty Animals 😀

I wish I could claim that as mine, but i saw it years ago on the net somewhere.

irongarment: There is a measles outbreak in Canterbury. Three cases in Christchurch and Rangiora. None were vaccinated.

I saw some stupid person commenting it served them right. I thought this was one of the dumbest things I'd read in a long time, and believe me, that's saying something, but it doesn't serve the kids who are suffering right, they had no say in the matter.

I wouldn't wish that on anyone, or the parents.

I wouldn't wish it on the kids - they are truly the victims in all of this, but I have no sympathy for the parents and secretly hope they catch it off their kids - but ironically the mandatory vaccinations the parents received as kids at school will protect them. People don't appreciate what they have until it is gone.
