Looks like MightyApe as it was will be no more for the time being, but a leaner operation. A MightyGibbon perhaps?

Mighty Ape has temporarily suspended accepting new orders while we operate under the guidelines provided by Central Government for COVID-19 Alert Level 4. Our team is working hard to ship outstanding in-stock orders today. Outstanding orders will be shipped at the end of the Level 4 lockdown, or when we receive confirmation from Central Government that we're authorised to do so. Customers with unshipped orders where payment has already been received will be offered a full refund.

We understand that many customers (including us!) are concerned about their pre-orders, some of which are releasing during the Level 4 lockdown. We are working on a scenario where we can fulfill these orders safely and on time. We will share further details with affected customers as they become available.

We're very sorry for the disruption to service. We believe Mighty Ape can play an important part in improving the lives of all New Zealanders in home isolation during the lock down and we can do it safely. We sell a range of "Essentials" that qualify for sale during Level 4 and we intend to re-open the website for these products ASAP. We have already implemented very stringent policies related to COVID-19 to ensure the health & safety of all our distribution staff.

We also strongly believe that general well-being is important to all New Zealanders faced with a long period of home isolation. We are working to show Government that we can safely deliver products such as books, electronics and family board games alongside everyday household essentials.

Aliexpress is working fine. 10yr anniversary sale in a couple of days

Yes, you can order but you won't receive your goods for months. There is no air shipping from China at the moment and NZ Post has stopped all mail.

I bet you can't book a courier anytime in the next month. Let us know if I'm wrong.

Trademe sent out an email over night saying to use book a courier rather than pickups. It said couriers could take longer than usual.

NZ post (and print journalism) is meant to continue I think, and there are cargo plans crossing the Tasman still right?

Got an email from Lotto to say they will still be operating, but can only be purchased online. Obviously they wouldn't continue to be sold at supermarkets, as that is for essential services.

But live lotto draws won't continue under alert level 4, so they are doing moving to computer generated lotto results.

Also if you win using a physical ticket, unless it is a major prize, you won't be able to claim it until the physical stores reopen, but they say you have 12 months to claim so you won't miss out.

The couriers are still working

Countdown online is working 7day ahead booking at present.

New World is better I imagine that wont last when others find out about it.

Has there been a recent announcement from them regarding the latest update ,with couriers now only delivering essential items?
It essentially means sellers will need to cancel all of our listings, unless we are selling essential items. Or maybe they will cancel them all automatically depending on the category they are in? I didn't think it would happen.

on tms website

section of the message

Only some trades will be able to be completed as normal. This will depend on whether the seller is an essential business, professional seller or casual seller.

•You can still browse listings from casual sellers and place bids. However, you won’t be able to complete the purchase while NZ is at alert level 4. We’re taking these steps because we don’t want to encourage any non-essential travel, face-to-face contact or courier bookings.

•You can still browse and purchase listings from professional sellers, however your only payment option will be Ping so that you’re covered by our Buyer Protection Policy.

•If a seller is an essential business they’ll be able to courier the item to you as soon as possible. If they aren’t an essential business, the item will not be sent to you until we’re no longer at alert level 4 which could be longer than four weeks. We’ll hold the funds until all courier bookings and pick-ups are able to proceed again.

They have just sent an email now to casual sellers. Says that auctions will be extended by at least 4 weeks for casual sellers, and no buy nows. Also the option to withdraw the auction at no cost.

It did sound a bit strange that they would get to continue operating when everybody else couldn't. Can confirm they have removed the Buy Now on my auctions and pushed the end date another 4 weeks.

Dear PB Tech Customers

From the close of business on Wednesday 25th March, all PB Tech stores will temporarily shut until further notice.

We are also no longer accepting online orders. As of 5pm on Wednesday 25th March, there are already too many in the system for us to process before the final courier is set to depart. Plus any orders received for essential services are being prioritised to help the experts fight Covid-19. Apologies in advance for any customer who misses out on their delivery, we are racing to get as much done as possible.

Be safe New Zealand, we look forward to serving you again in a few weeks.

The team at PB Tech
