Given it's the middle of a working day. And most of us are likely in our office/home office.

I wonder how many are actually effected. Or just being on the bandwagon as they can...

I hope the police don’t stand by and watch. If they carry out their threat and police are unable to deal with it then call in the Army. Only question is where do you lock them up? Don’t have an empty remote island somewhere.

Put them on Leper island in the middle of Wellington Harbour

I know it's not a particularly PC view, but the idea that you can stand back and let these idiots burn themselves out doesn't work anymore.

There's no "Wow, we were allowed to protest, maybe we don't live in the crushing tyrannical state we thought we do" moment. They're surrounded by their self-reinforced messaging all the time.

If the cops do nothing, it's because they agree and know the rest of the country does to - 'silent majority' rubbish.

If the cops beat them, it's because they're brave, Mandela-esque protesters who are doing what has to be done for the good of the country. There's no possibly way they can be wrong.

I say beat them anyway, at least for the amusement of those of us who aren't enthralled by foreign dogmatic agitating talking points.

These will probably be common from now on, I guess that's similar to AUS and elsewhere. The new norm. Virus will take off once Freedom Day hits

It says thousands are marching in article. Also bus’s are not stopping at some stops for saftely. Also with statements like this “we the people' to take matters into our hands as we undertake THE GREAT GRIDLOCK across many parts of this nation, unlike anything ever seen before," the group said.”

I hope the police don’t stand by and watch. If they carry out their threat and police are unable to deal with it then call in the Army. Only question is where do you lock them up? Don’t have an empty remote island somewhere.

Call in the army?? Some geekzoners on this thread should move to China or some other totalitarian regime where citizens have no rights, such as the right to protest or the right to refuse medical treatment.

I am vaccinated. I am lobbying a couple of anti Vax mates to get the jab (unsuccessfully!) but I don't want them to get the bash because they choose not too, or be excluded from society.

A rural school has just they will have to shut because none of the 6 staff are vaccinated.

This mandate is going to do more damage to our country than covid.

Wild how we don't run the country around what extremely misinformed individuals think should happen.

Wild how the virus doesn't care either.

I bet everyone is pro-vaxx on their deathbed. The question is how much damage are they doing before then?

Anti-vax teachers and midwives are a matter for their respective professional councils.

I don't think it will. How many people are left once we reach 90% of those eligible to vaccinate? 500,000? I get the impression it could have been anything and roughly 10% of the population wouldn't like it. Fortunately we have elections and if those that vote decide they didn't like what has happened then they will vote accordingly.

I've had this discussion with someone recently who mentioned probably not being able to fly without the vaccine (which looks like you'll just require a negative test). I said you are perfectly free to fly anywhere. Purchase your own plane and go where you like.

You can tell this was well thought..

He says the Government has until 2pm on Friday, November 12 to meet their demands. If their demands are not met, the group is threatening to "gridlock" New Zealand's major cities.

There won't be much happening on Friday in chc. Its Canterbury show anniversary.

It is sickening to see both Trump flags and signs with swastikas at the Wellington rally.

Some folks need to read some history and see what the real nazis did. And what does Trump have to do with this?

What I cannot figure out is why there hasn't been a high profile politician put these clowns in their place.

Pointing out

  • That with freedoms and rights comes responsibilities.
  • The nearly 90% of people who are vaccinated and want to see Covid beaten also have rights not to be impacted by the unvaccinated.
  • That no one likes mandates but because of a small proportion of the population mandates have become necessary for the benefit of the vast majority.
  • The fact that they have the freedom to protest unlike countries where freedoms are highly restricted makes a lie of their argument.
  • The fact they have the freedom every three years to change the government.
  • That they need to realise that they live in an echo chamber that only represents a very small portion of the population.
  • The fact that they have to be deaf, blind and or stupid not to know, Covid is far more destructive then the common flu and the vaccine is very safe and works very well
  • They are being selfish by attempting to disrupt the lives of 90% of the population for their very silly view of the pandemic

Someone with the kahunas to do this would in my opinion get huge support from the general population. We need someone to show some leadership. The only person coming close so far is Leo Molloy.

Wonderful people. Shouting "No mind control". And Trump flags. And when I walked to Lambton Square to get a coke, some were walking back from Parliament and would go "baaaaa" when passing us wearing masks.

Idiots.

It's getting more frequent in Christchurch. Especially around Hagley Park which is my running grounds a few times a week. I've seen a LOT of chalk graffiti with anti vaxx and anti Cindy, lots of "mind control" things. There are a lot of words I want to use but the FUG restricts me and it's just extremely gross.

because he started, empowered, enabled and encouraged alternate truth, time and time again i've said this on the forum

with the 10% of people subscribing i'd say if you have representative party they'd get into parliament under MMP!
