sbiddle: I think you're ignoring the key part of the AZ issue - Bloomfield stood there at 1pm and said that AZ was not going to be available to anybody and there would be very strict criteria. You either needed to be one of the few hundred people unable to get Pfizer due to medical conditions, or you needed to be an essential worker in a role where a vaccine mandate existed. By 5pm Hipkins said it would be available anybody in NZ for whatever reason who didn't want Pfizer after a consultation with a medical expert to discuss the pros and cons. They are pretty much doing what you've suggested above.

This is a difference in perspective and not a difference in effect. I'm not at all ignoring it. In fact, Hipkins could well be wrong in the present moment if the logistics are still in development.

Batman: I won't worry about a booster, just get them vaccinated first. Who knows their booster is probably going to be live SARS-CoV2

There's no need to freak out such people with unnecessary and silly statements like the above. It's not helpful.

It's not true. The article currently has a stupid headline. The headline is not supported by anything in the article itself.

This is not the first time NZHerald has used silly inane headlines for Coivd related articles. I have previously advocated NZHerald needs to refrain from this approach for Covid related articles. It's just irresponsible.

Same category as Sylvia park offering free stuff to the first 150 shoppers and surprise surprise obvious consequence. In that case big bunches of people hanging around for a long time. Destiny Church main site just up the road too.

Oblivian:

West Coast and Bay of Plenty DHBs do not have morgues - instead, they rely on storage at funeral businesses.

Bay of Plenty DHB bought and blessed two refrigerated containers last year to prepare for Covid-19 fatalities - one is at Whakatāne Hospital and the other in Tauranga.

They are the ones with the sign in large letters on the side -

People who are unvaccinated should wait inside. Refreshments will be provided.

The problem with these protests is that it doesnt really take many single occupant cars to gridlock the major roads/motorways in cities and towns and make it look worse than it is, i.e. 10,000 people out protesting would grid lock a large proportion of the city but represents a miniscule fraction of the population.  Would like the media to actually report the actual number of cars causing the gridlock and show it as a percentage as that would put it in to perspective.

It's Saturday. I didn't see the government overthrown. Anyone else? That was their deadline

Clearly the end of the week however if people are out protesting again huh. Seems it's weekly now after all

https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/coronavirus/126976613/covid19-hospital-not-accepting-new-mums-because-of-midwife-shortage-post-vaccine-mandate

Why of all the health professionals, are midwives apparently the most vaccine resistant by a significant margin?

Serious question, not trying to cast any shade
