And then? Would they (hopefully) shut up and go away? Or find some new cause to be unhappy about?
They'll go back to "Ban 1080" and take up "Say NO to 3 Waters".
I've seen a number of vehicles around here espousing all three causes

I have a close friend who blows your stereotypes out of the water. He is intelligent, compassionate, kind and generous, but he absolutely believes vaccination should be a matter of choice and he is strongly against it for himself, though he has no problem with others getting it.
Sounds like he gets pretty close to the stereotype. Being against expert health advice for the majority is the opposite of compassion and generosity. But perhaps his great intellect has shed light on why the matter of choice for vaccine's is more important than everyone's safety?
Has he ever had tough questions put to him about vaccination that could expose his irrational fears? He just dodges for that "matter of choice" line in an effort to keep more credibility intact..?
People can be kind to those around them and still be arrogant. The bigger picture is what matters during a pandemic and your friend is either too selfish or short-sighted to see that.

Yet another ridiculous, pointless protest. I really hope the numbers of people attending these stupid things is dropping. Do they not have jobs to do or lives to live or hobbies to follow?
Well, I was (partly) right, it was definitely ridiculous and stupid at the same time, not to mention - poorly organised:
...a Spotify playlist the convoy organisers made for others to add "good tunes to drive to" was taken over by people who opposed the protesters.
"Some people are adding some really disgusting music (don't think you can call it music). I'm guessing [it's] people that don't agree with the convoy because they have nothing better to do," one person said. <<< speak for yourself! Look at the idiots around you in your "convoy"!!
Songs that were added by those opposing the convoy included 'Redneck Piece of White Trash' by Rebel Son, 'Why Don't You Get A Job' by The Offspring, and 'Dumb F---' by Peaches.
😀😄

Supermarkets are wanting the government to do something about the people who are going into the supermarket unmasked, as it is currently unmanageable. I have noticed there are a lot of unmasked people in my supermarkets, and as cases grow, I can see superma4kts being a place with high viral loads, as there will be more an more people visiting them who have covid. Apparently according to the stuff article, the majority don't have any exemption, they are making a political point ad difficult to deal with. I wouldn't be surprised if many were also antivaxxers. It also affects those with a valid exemption, as they get tarred with the same brush . A few have lanyard, but you don't know if they are legit, or just printed off facebook. IMO the government need to do something about this to protect everyone. No point in having a law if isn't fit for purpose or even enforced.
Ive not noticed that (NW Wigram)
What do we do??

I would not try to defend my friend's choice because I don't agree with it. But you don't know him and you are not qualified to pass judgement on him.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

I'm sure there are those who could be described as intelligent, compassionate, kind and generous in many areas of their life, yet still choose to micturate in the pool (but generously have no problem with those who don't).

My mate and he is as honest as the day is long is the same. The issue is, the moon landings are fake. George blew up the Twin Towers, Covid is run by Pfixer. Oddly he is vaccinated once "to help me" but he now has heart issues due to it. Hs gf who is lovely is anti vax, so they went to Queenstown after Xmas and watched other people as they cycled. I went through a period of ignoring him. Its like Jehovahs Witnesses at the door ,and a next door neighbour back in the day. Thee is always an answer. IMHO its an oppositional stance to society as thats cool. But happy to be controlled in getting a passport or a DL,but not happy to get a jab to protect other people. As Omicron rolls in, I can see myself backing off him.

Its an oppositional stance IMO. If there was a national pay increase, yay. If sick days were reduced by 00.1% its a conspiracy. I have a colleague who takes the piss sick day wise. My AV mate says that if he has sick leave , take it or lose it. So, perhaps its a selfish mechanism, as combusted to a fair thought process?

Or, I'm taxpayer, i'm ok with being forced to get a passport, IRD number, pay rego, but Im not ok with vaccines or vaccine passports as while I have no interest in that topic I prefer to oppose being controlled, even though I am, but Im ok with that, but its an opportunity to protest/be different/be oppositional, and thats cool. The medical stuff that proves me wrong, ill blow that off as fake as that suits me. Its not intelligence , its a convenient oppositional issue. Then he says, the old people or who are fat, get jabbed and stay home.... I tell him, you stay home so the rest of us can be normal. But he says I want free choice. Cool, I say, 99% say this is the deal, you and the 1% disagree, you are wrong, bye. I can see the Omicron an anti vax thing being my Convenient Truth, bye
Now if Covid was a death sentence, who would be in line first????
I just find it painful. Take politics, half the country want blue, half red, and only 10% will go either way. Its a true choice. But when its 99% vs 1%?? Oh just get jabbed and stay home.... I want too say how about the lowlifes and braindeads stay home???
Rikkitic,
I am pretty relaxed about your friend if they are not egging vaccination vans.
Not trying to frighten children outside schools and vaccination centers.
Not spreading FUD and CT on Metaverse.
Kindness to others, there are a bucket load of reasons to show Hospitals, aged and vulnerable kindness.
Those with immune disorders or getting cancer treatment and other operations by making the place a little bit safer.
Elective operations delayed will have serious consequences.
Kindness to others suggests an understanding of personal sacrifice for others.
The Protest Caravan.
To me it looked like a Ute Fest, so that Ute rights crowd to add to 1080, Guns, Evangelicals, Pentecostals.
So if your tradie looks like they have driven up and down half the country on Tuesday you know why.
The company petrol account might be hammered this month.
Lets spread covid throughout the land with all these antivax gatherings.
Sounds like they hadn't thought about the ferry and vaccine passports/RAT tests and they are looking for private boats to take them. It's birthed one of the funniest hashtags i've seen in a while: #Dumbkirk

You forgot to mention the hilariously sabotage done to their playlist.
They also should not have shared this(they clearly did not think this through and how shared Spotify playlists work)...
