Yay! my car passed its WOF and I got over myself.

I also had my car warranted and yet again it breezed through. Not bad for 2003.

While it was being inspected, I spent the morning with my anti-vax friends. They are still friends and I make allowances for their insanity. What struck me, though, is that they are more entrenched than ever in their positions. Whatever the authorities are doing to change minds, it isn't working.

Much of the anti vax is anti government and anti Jacinda so any messages from them only hardens the anti vax attitudes. Wrong people delivering the message, though I'm not sure who would get any cut through.

Yay! Boosters available from 29 Nov.

I was wondering, are the boosters different from the standard doses? If there’s no special sauce added, why do we have to wait another 2 weeks? Especially when an immunologist was on tv tonight saying Pfizer starts waning after 6 months. By the end of the month it will be 8 and a half months since my second jab. Hopefully the boost will be more immediate rather than 2 weeks later, because if the traffic light system comes in on 1 Dec, we are still vulnerable even if we get in on 29 Nov (along with 144000 others).

At least it’s not next year, as was intimated a month ago.

It's the same vaccine. If you are relatively young and healthy it won't make much of a difference to your outcomes if you are exposed to covid but I guess it'll make you feel better.

The reason for the delay could be because the booking system needs to be tweaked to allow bookings for boosters. They've asked that people book booster shots, and not simply walk-in (at least for now). I think the suggestion was they want to keep walk-in slots for those still to get 1st and 2nd jabs.

Yes, but not through the general booster roll out. Those with specific requirements have been able to get a booster for a few weeks now.

Sounded like this.

Booking system for boosters was to go live on the 26th, only 3 days prior to appointments being made available.

Guessing there is some back end stuff that needs to be finished / tested to allow for the appointment system and vaccine database to allow for boosters.

Might also be some physical changes need to the larger / more popular vaccine centers. We really don't want a single person turning up for their first or second dose to balk at a queue or be turned away from a center that is crowded with people getting boasters.

While boosters sound helpful, it seems to be the primary doses that do the heavy lifting in terms of reducing harm. As such the absolute priory should be people getting primary doses at this stage in my eyes. Should have a priorty lane, or get whisked to the frount of the queue if any.

That said, there is likely to be only a handful of busy day's as only a small number of people have had the vaccine for more than 6 months, so those people will be done quickly.

I'm amazed that there's anyone that is still not vaccinated without a really good medical reason.

My son and I are both ridiculously needle-phobic and both ended up having to be medicated (orally) to get our jabs. But we are both double-vaxed.

There really is no excuse anymore and I'm stunned that we are talking in the same breath about some fully vaccinated people getting boosters while we also speak of people yet to have their first jab.

Well done to both of you.

My Sister-n-Law is the same and she too had to be medicated. She is so phobic that she has no children. (they have two Main Coon cats instead) Her husband is very understanding and supportive and held her hand for each jab.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

So, I had my third vaccine (not booster) yesterday. It quick as quick and painless as I've ever experienced. I am tender in my left arm but otherwise feel fine.

I can report 5G reception has improved slightly in our house and I am feeling fractionally less annoyed at Jacinda today so the mind control thing appears to be working well.

How long was it after your second jab?

Exactly!

Plus they have only just started vaccinating 12-15 year old's.
