Yeah. Made the mistake of pointing out the companies removing on my own socials. Naturally jumped on by the usual suspects defending and tell me 'it is over though? Stop living in fear'

Yes. Because saying it is makes something biological striving for new hosts to survive read the paper/headline too and goes 'ok, ill stop now'

Is no point showing the increase in Australian states or Asian countries a few months ahead of us. All lies etc etc

The same as usual, "that's not what I want to believe so I'll just make up what I want to believe as "fact" and anyone who disagrees with me be damned".

Radio NZ - Covid-19 update: Eleven further deaths, 12,882 new community cases and 861 people in hospital

today

"On vaccinations, there were 1101 booster doses given yesterday, as well as 31 first doses; 87 second doses; one third primary dose; 113 paediatric first doses and 2756 paediatric second doses."

These are pathetically small numbers for an entire country which is at "the beginning of the end" of a lethal pandemic.

We are sleep walking.  😔

QR codes all gone from the local stores I go to (couple of coffee stores and the local supermarket); thankfully Google Maps is pretty good at knowing my exact location all the time, and my car also has its on GPS - so if I suddenly need to remember where I might have been, I can use those locations.

Hopefully we are expanding the Flu vaccination program.
It might be good to also reduce the target age a bit to get message to under 65s too.

Patients with Covid and flu double the risk of dying, say scientists
There have been calls for those hospitalised with the coronavirus to be routinely test for influenza after new research revealed an increased mortality rate for those with both conditions

“We were surprised that the risk of death more than doubled when people were infected by both flu and Covid-19 viruses,” said Professor Calum Semple of Liverpool University. “It is now very important that people get fully vaccinated and boosted against both viruses, and not leave it until it is too late.”

Anyone know when the flu-jab-season starts here in Sealand? I always get the vaccination but I don't remember when they become available.

Push starts 1st/next week (well 'april' is official) to risky once these last ditch booster clinics dry.

The wastage for single digit walk-ins at present will be bad.

But word is both will be offered at some locations. No risk in getting each this time round it seems

Spacing of Influenza and COVID-19 vaccines
Current advice is:
• The influenza vaccine can be given concomitantly with Pfizer and AstraZeneca
COVID-19 vaccines.
• FLUAD® QUAD and Nuvaxovid (Novavax) or Shingrix – 3-day gap recommended (all
adjuvanted vaccines)
• Pregnant women are recommended to have influenza and mRNA-CV (Pfizer)
COVID-19 vaccine at any stage of pregnancy (can be given the same time)
Note: there is no set gap between COVID-19 disease and having your influenza
vaccine – just when you are well again.

Had mine this morning at my local GP (could have had it a few days ago but wasn't convenient).

I've read the article but it doesn't show any proof the vaccine works.

It says "The boosted population is 5x larger than the number of unvaccinated individuals, but only responsible for causing 1.6x as many infections and receiving 2.1x as many (much less than the 5x as many that would be expected if the vaccine did not offer any protection)."

And then goes on to build some models.

I'm not saying vaccines don't work but the article doesn't show that it works, but it states that boosters are good.

Any links to the data on which the quoted statement is based?

This seems like nit-picking. By definition a booster of a Covid vaccine is a vaccine and part of the vaccine process.

Many vaccines require a 3 shot primary course (eg Rabies) - it could be argued that the Pzifer Covid vaccine is on of those vaccines.

Watching late night TV it appears one of the local stations puts on ABC News US.

As you may have gathered, they are now onto giving over fifties there 4th dose.
BA.2 taking over as the primary

And because they dropped masks etc yet another resurgence from the north east states.

The other dilemma they are now in, is at the current rate of continual dosing. Going to run out of money/funding to continue tests and jabs they had originally set aside so figures being shuffled.

It's crazy Countdown stores removed all their QR posters, removed the separator from in and out traffic etc. I still do manual entries everywhere I go. Most of the places are already in the database so I just have to type the first couple of letters and it will come up. Iknow that there is no one monitoring at the other end but I feel if anyone I am close to gets Covid I will at least know where I have been.
