Rikkitic:
Their baby's life matters more than getting their way. Unless they think it doesn't.
They clearly don't.
The actual answer here is realistic discussions about their capability to provide a safe environment and make informed decisions regarding their child, or any other children they may have.
At the risk of going off topic, I find it weird that health issues seems to attract the most opposition to expertise. I mean I take my car to the mechanic, he says, you need a new master cylinder for your brakes, I don't go home and google and come back and say, you know what, I think you're wrong and you really ought to try replacing this or that.
Or a builder comes around and says, ok we'll build the fence likes this and I don't turn around and say, I believe you're wrong.
That said, I'm day seven with COVID. Dodged it for this long, and seem to be getting worse rather than better which is annoying. I thought the initial seven days would be plenty. Now I'm looking at Monday thinking, man I've got quite a big work day and only three more days to improve enough to contemplate working.

The pressure these doctors are under now. Imagine if anything goes wrong.
I am sure the anti-vax brigade is preying (deliberate misspelling) for that to happen.
They would happily sacrifice the life of a baby in the name of their insane cause.

It does attract that sort of stuff, it just doesn't make the news like covid related things do because its being going on for years. Engine makes noise, mechanic says they need to replace it but sponsored youtube video says that this liquid will fix it so people get that instead.

Don't overdo. If you feel tired, take a break. Or simply take the day off.

I think part of it, ironically, is validation. People seeking to desperately have one over highly trained and educated individuals because they're special and insightful and generally fancy themselves as being able to do literally anything, and specialists just exist as a prop to reinforce how great they are.
If I take my car to the mechanic and he comes to the same conclusion as me, I'm pretty happy with myself. What these people are doing is taking a further step to use the fact he won't just tell me what I want to hear for my own satisfaction as proof that he's incompetent.

Must admit I'm quite astonished to see Sean Plunket - of all people - speaking out in support of the court and doctors over this. Given that The Platform has a large number of conspiracy theorists and anti-vaxxers on there (eg, Chantelle Baker), I was quite surprised to see him speaking out against Liz Gunn and the parents. I thought he would 100% be on their side - but he's not.
For once I actually agree with him on this.
Also (just tweeted - got a laugh out of me!):

Batman:
What I find is a joke with the health system is these jokers can cause unspeakable damage and incur untold cost to everyone and we have to bow to them and they become national victims
But If a doctor says anything the patient doesn't like they can complain to the HDC and destroy the doctor who has to suffer in silence just coz they don't like what the doctor said to them.
Why
There's no law against being a dickhead.
There are laws about being such a dickhead that you endanger someone else's life in the process.
We fortunately seem to have landed on the 'You rights end where mine begin' implementation of liberty we inherited from the UK as opposed to the 'my individual rights are absolute' approach the US takes, while dropping of the universality of that as a core concept - despite it being so important it is said to be 'self-evident'.
I think the world went through a period of enlightenment and reason that led to breakthrough discoveries. Now we are cycling back to a period of irrationality and superstition. Soon sites like this will be hidden in caves while YouTube pundits dance around maypoles and burn heretics.
