FYI, Barry Young appears in court on Feb 23 (coming up next week) to set a trial date.  You can expect the anti-vaxxers and other cookers to be out supporting him.

Let's see how far his "whistleblower" defense gets him now. Maybe Sue Grey could represent him? Two clueless morons in court at the same time 🙄

Is COVID classified as endemic or pandemic now?

Still pandemic.

"On 5 May 2023, the WHO declared that the pandemic was no longer a public health emergency of international concern. The WHO's Director-General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, stated that the pandemic's downward trend over the preceding year "has allowed most countries to return to life as we knew it before COVID-19", though cautioning that new variants could still pose a threat and that the conclusion of the current state of emergency did not mean that the COVID-19 is no longer a worldwide health concern.[12][13][14]"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endemic_COVID-19

In the absence of eradication, the virus will likely become endemic, a process that could take years to decades

This guy Barry Young is truly a despicable person.

Covid Vaccinators personal details leaked on US blog | Stuff

A large number of Covid-19 vaccinators had their personal details posted on an American website, Te Whatu Ora has revealed.

Kiwis affected by the data breach by a former health worker accused of misusing data to spread misinformation about vaccines, will be contacted by Te Whatu Ora.

Around 12,000 people would need to be notified, Apa said, and that number could rise.

Hmmmm - I thing the Stuff reporter may be conflating two different issues here. The data released by Barry Young (as I understand it) was fully anonymised.

The data identifying 12,000 vaccinators was released under an OIA and is now public information.

I don't get what he's being thanked for? Breaching privacy? What was he trying to do/prove?

At least Sue Grey's not representing him, maybe he decided to get a proper lawyer instead of a wannabe one 🙄

Even if it was an OIA request, all personal information should be removed before it is sent so it theory, the personal names, addresses etc should have been withheld under Section 9 (2A).

I think @granada29 got confused. There's no OIA request for those names and even if there was, these would be redacted before release.

All articles I can find are related to the data leaker Young.

Article on the new batch available today.

Guess it does mean the omicro stock might be trashed or go offshore.

At least it brings up those who have had 2 and stopped could benefit. Although I don't think we will see sudden queues again. I'm sure we all know people in that camp moaning they have had 2 or more and work made them have a few days off.

I’ll be having it. I’m travelling with my wife in July/August and will try and time it so I have maximum protection for that period.

The current numbers are pretty pitiful, so any uptick will be noticeable in the numbers, last week only 2500 doses were administered,

I suspect there will be a pick up when this year's flu vax is rolled, along with a bit of "double feature" advertising

I did go to a flu/covid drop in last year or year before with a family member, but not for both.

There seems to be the 'I had 3 thats enough' 'It didn't work so why bother' and then a bunch happy to keep them up. They did a txt bomb reminder for the first ones when a clinic was near. But none since?

So also expect there are a few who forgot or just plain don't realise its a rolling 6 month thing.

I went in Jan after realising a workmate was due early nov so I probably would be too. Was a little late.

Have a reminder set now.l though. And the staff member was reminding people it's meant to be kept bi-annual to be effective.

Didn't realise the numbers were that low..little sad.
