On that, the PM's announcement at midday is rumoured to be around community action. Probably that we aren't doing what we need to be doing, so will close in the rules I feel.  AUS rule is 25 people per 100 sqm.

Whats the feedback from Friday night socialising for others here?

PolicyGuy:

How to rat out someone not following self-isolation rules: email nhccselfisolation@health.govt.nz

From Hansard:

Hon STUART NASH: Police advise me that if a member of the public suspects a breach of the self-isolation rules, they can email. I would like all the members to note this down and send it out on their social media or other platforms. This is the email address: . That's "nhccselfisolation"—one word—"@health.govt.nz". They can include details or screenshots from social media as appropriate.

I'm just curious as to what happens if you find you're positive, and you go into self-isolation.

When the MoH or whoever track the people you've been in contact with, do they tell those people who the infected person is that they have been in contact with? I suspect doing so could lead to finger-pointing/social media bullying, etc.

Does anyone else find the MoH updates have really poor audio? Always seem to have to crank it up. Just to hear it.

Nanogirl is awesome.

Newshub have been advised its from her office upstairs.
Her. And A camera.

We could be looking at a plea from a mother to urge adherence. Or something else. Time will tell.

Yes. Unfortunately some are probably thinking a lockdown is inevitable so ‘let’s party like it’s 1999’ before that happens. Thereby increasing the chance of it happening. Likewise packing into close quarters in supermarkets to panic buy.

I reckon 100 confirmed cases by the end of the weekend is reasonable to expect.

Edit: Comment was aimed at “Friday night socialising”.

Seems likely unfortunately. Which is nuts. I didn't think it would happen that fast maybe 100 by end of March. Damn. Only speculating. But I think its highly like community spread has already occurred. We're probably already a few weeks behind the curve.

I did notice that their current cases web page is out of date because they’re not updating it at the same time as making announcements.

Some pubs/bars have voluntarily closed the doors.

Others are trying to coax punters to come by offering cheap beer/happy hours/cheap eats.

Masses of flight arrivals today in AKL, I gave up counting, 50+ flights. Closed borders? They must only have NZ nationals  on board, so we need to bear in mind that we are actively importing cases, so as new cases daily are occurring and are seen as from travel, we need to expect decent numbers of travel related cases for some time yet. Thats irregardless of what we are doing internally.

In some good news. 1500 tests were done on Friday alone. Up from 1,000 on Thursday.

Nanogirl had the same advise I've worked off the last few days

Treat everyone you meet like they may have it. And you could be passing it.
