Presumably, that isn't "Don't Resuscitate"!

Not funny.

The USA were aware of the disease outbreak from early January if not earlier.  Their govt assumed that they were safe because they didn't see any cases (because they never tested to see if they had any cases either), and locked the border to China.  That appeared to give them a 2 month hiatus before infection exploded.

NZ has had a longer gap because of fewer contacts with China and so our infections have come through Iran, Italy, Australia etc.  It's just a matter of time before it explodes in our complacent community as well.

yup. we are doing exactly the same as the USA were.

we laughed at them, we are going to be laughed at.

i don't think we are testing for community transmission.

and isolation is still based on trust.

It's pretty obvious to anyone in context what the abbreviation as written represented.

Meanwhile, four of the recent cases came out of some cattle fair in Queenstown. The morons who organised that should be prosecuted under the Health and Safety at Work Act for failing to take all practicable steps to ensure the health and safety of other persons. In times like these, why were they encouraging people to fly in from overseas to talk about something as trivial as cattle? Absolute lunacy. The organisers should be prosecuted and condemned.

How much longer will the PM etc be gathering journalists in person to give briefings to them?

Surely it is safer for this to be done by video now?

No new cases of CT. Thats the big number to watch

Two possible CT's are now 2 x CT

All the rest we flew in and counted later as is the case each day, this has ramped up as flights continue in, and from higher risk countries each day

I prefer exactitude to 'pretty obvious' which is the verbal equivalent of 'self isolate'. In this discussion, DR could easily mean something different.

How are you guys still making this basic mistake? We are not testing people who are not directly connected with confirmed cases, therefore we cannot possibly find positive cases who are not directly connected with confirmed cases. This propaganda needs to stop. If we don't start being realistic this thing will eat us alive.

The CT cases are one that was already suspected to be, and one new. One of the suspected CT cases (from Friday) is not one of the current two CT cases as they now believe they've traced successfully. As per the current update from Dr Bloomfield.
