They'll have to phone their mum more often, and chat to their neighbours (with a fence in between). This could be more interaction than people normally get while working.

But I guess you're quite happy to buy food from supermarkets which have been transported through the hands of potentially tens of warehouse workers, couriers, supermarket staff, and the customers who browse through, touch, move and talk over the top of said product/package?

I have been putting off going to the pharmacy as it normally busy, and is probably very busy at the moment, and I don't live too far from from one of the two probable CT cases. Will do it in the next week or so when it has calmed down more. But if they do move to doing deliveries, that would be a bonus. .

Yes, I think they must be busy... she was supposed to come home at 4 p.m. and I haven't seen her yet...

People are supposed to be using hand sanitiser and not touching their face. We were discussing this earlier at home, and the same could be said for anything you buy from the supermarket..The person who put it on the shelf has touched the item or may have coughed or sneezed on it by mistake. Or if getting staff delivered the same applies top anything in the box. People need to follow common sense.

Nevertheless, I agree that management of incoming cases has been good... we do NOT have widespread CT. I suggest that Kiwis returning to NZ to escape the pandemic are very likely to comply, and that what CT we have is likely to be from tourists. The media has numerous examples of their disregard of the isolation requirements.

i cannot share that view that it's mainly tourists sorry, everyone has been very casual about this, residents and non residents.

Yes, it's all. But we don't need the blame game. Not trying to diss your post though. Everywhere people have seen the lockdown and fled, spreading it. Wuhan and North Italy. Everywhere there is panic buying. Yes this %$#^**% its their fault, but its human nature. Lots of learnings after this. It will happen again as it always has, that's the positive, as we struggle for positives.

I just talked to my tenant. The company he works for is only able to pay him the government support benefit.

We will be supporting them with significantly reduced rent. If you have tenants and are in a position to help please talk to them about their situation.

I heard all that and level 4 is wednesday. If you bothered to watch it, its level 4 now, except all of us have been given 48 hours to prepare.

Thats why its 3 now and 4 soon

I shouldn't really have to explain this. /smh

From the Covid 19 information sheet, "Health services, emergency services, utilities and goods transport, and other essential services are expected to remain up and running at all stages."

I would image Courier remains under "goods transport". Remains to be seen, however.

AUS has that "logistics and good deliveries" roughly. Why? Many businesses can operate online. That helps them it helps employees. If we can go to the supermarket we can accept a package. Business is on a fine line, anything that can help, will help

one really experienced guy said there is no firm data that touching your face spreads it and sanitizer is good because it does kill germs but it is more to give people something to do '

Could it be argued that that particular PC shop is part of an "Utilities and communications, including supply chains" - being physical hardware to continue communications (especially with the comment that Spark is suggesting internet based services, like skype, instead of relying on the mobile network?

I'm guessing this will become clearer as we see what happens with goods transit around NZ ...

Courier services are part of essential services as per the list on the covid19.govt.nz website

Transport services
New Zealand Post and courier services
Any small passenger service vehicle driver – including taxis and ride-share services

That is why you wash your hands the happy birthday way, as per MoH instructions, before you leave the package and after you pick it up. Not rocket science.
