hio77: Oh come now. If your gonna have a 2 meter distance surely a cam site is cheaper than a date!
Friend in SFO who lives in a somewhat seedy area reported that all the strip clubs around him have closed, with the workers transitioning to being camgirls...
I went into the local Animates pet supplies store this afternoon with a friend. The queues were almost out the door with people stocking up on specialist food for their animals. I managed to get my beast normal cat food at New World without any trouble.
mattwnz:People are supposed to be using hand sanitiser and not touching their face. We were discussing this earlier at home, and the same could be said for anything you buy from the supermarket..The person who put it on the shelf has touched the item or may have coughed or sneezed on it by mistake. Or if getting staff delivered the same applies top anything in the box. People need to follow common sense.
I was thinking of the couriers and the risk they're at, not the customer. Even if they wear gloves and face masks they're at risk handling large numbers of packages from large numbers of customers because at some point their PPE, if they can get any, will get contaminated.
People often mistake me for an adult because of my age.
Keep calm, and carry on posting.

It's going to be tough for pet owners if these places are closed. Hopefully they will be selling online. Countdown has a 2 per customer limit even on cat meal sachets. Usually Cats have 1-2 of these a day. Had to order them from an online store, hope they get delivered otherwise I am going to have some very upset kitties at home.

Cats are used to eating delicacies like their own vomit and rat brains, at a pinch they'll eat anything. Just get a 5-10kg bag of dried food and you'll be OK for ages.
Ours gets dried food twice a day, and half a sachet of wet food in the evening thinned with water, a single 20-pack box lasts for nearly 1 1/2 months.
freitasm:I've ordered two cases of wine last week and got them before the weekend.

Stu: I didn't even think of going to a liquor shop. Hope I have enough single malt.
Do they make that in hand-sanitiser strength?
neb:KDee:Only the virus particles that you coughed/sneezed onto the package before you left it, or that the courier deposited before they dropped it off. It's not as safe as you make it sound.
If I run a business from home and put a parcel on my doorstep for pickup by the courier, there is no human interaction required.
I spotted, at a set of lights in Tauranga this arvo, a courier wearing surgical gloves whilst driving. So obviously not changing and disposing between pickups and drop-offs.
POINTLESS
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.
neb: Some general advice for people stockpiling bulk dry food: Look out for infestations of things like pantry moths. If you've got it in small quantities and run through it fairly quickly there's less risk, but if you've filled a 10kg plastic bin or bought an equivalent-sized bag it'll be there for awhile, which is plenty of time for moths to get in and fill it with grubs.
Or store what you don't need in the freezer until you need it

I can see it .. the Corona generation that appears in 9 months time.
Are prophylactics an essential device/service ?

Just though I would say she made a hard but correct decision today & I respect her for it.
Hopefully we can stamp this thing out over the next 4-8 weeks.
Will be interesting to see what the game plan is after 4 weeks. My recommendation would be to use the army to divide the country up into a number of parts maybe 20 & slowly lower the level on each part based on likelyhood of a case arising. Then if a case comes up you can ring fence & quaritine this specific area for 4 weeks. This will mean if we get a few "random" CT cases pop up we won't need to shut down the whole place, we can isolate the specific area.
