You should have seen the crazies come out with the THEY'RE TRACKING US!!! when the API ability was added. I hate to think what's going to happen after they up to 13.7 today!

Just tried to turn it on. Selected NZ from the list, then just get a message that "Your Region Has An Exposure Notification App", and get pointed to the App Store. The setting remains turned off.

Nope. Just installed iOS 13.7 today.

EDIT: And 1.2.1 of the NZ app already installed.

So I installed a Bluetooth sniffer and I can now see my phone is broadcasting to the specifications

And the specification.

The “0x6F 0xFD” is the magic payload.

I cleared out my settings and tried to re-add it. The enrolment doesn’t work anymore for me.

So it turns out that if you reset your Exposure Notifications you can’t reenrol for them. But I was able to still enroll on wife’s phone this morning after I updated her to 13.7. But since I have reset it on my phone there doesn’t seem to be a way to re-enable it.
I’m sure it will be fixed in 13.7.1

Got 1.3.0 tonight via the play store.

1st time I've noticed that 1 of the scans I did this arvo wasn't actually logged. Was going through checking things out to add some details in (trying out the new feature).

Tried to enable the covid notifications via the Google settings, similarly to what some iOS peeps have been able to do but no dice...

I think that was a false start, from the Apple side and they (Apple) have since removed that.

Seems the android update now has a notes field for every scan...

But have removed the vibrate on scan

Since mid August I have done an average of two or three scans per day and so far every one has worked first time with minimal effort.

I am usually suspicious of government and generally dislike using apps, but in this case the Ministry of Health appears to have put a lot of effort into making the app reliable and privacy sensitive so I'm happy to make the effort to use it.

I recognise that others have had differing experiences and, as I acknowledged earlier in the thread, there seems to be some issues with particular models of phone. I guess that's where they need to focus their efforts next.

My only criticism of the app is that it's unclear whether you have to press the 'OK' button to dismiss the confirmation screen in order for a scan to be recorded. I think the answer is no, but from a UX perspective it would be better if it momentarily displayed a 'scan successful' screen and then let you go back to add notes, etc. if desired.

Might just be me, but certainly seems quicker scanning on Android after the latest update, doesn't need to be held there for a good few seonds to scan anymore.
