Thats interesting. So they tested the tiger out of caution. Hmmm. Not normally a conspiracy theorist. But it makes you think. Is there another reason theyre testing animals when people are already struggling to get tests? Are they worried animals could be asymptomatic carriers?
They should be. Domestic cats can be infected with the disease, a significant % of cats tested positive in Wuhan, cats infected in lab tests got infected and cat to cat infection has been demonstrated. The only missing data is that cat to human transmission hasn't been observed - but absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. They need to find out.
This could be a problem, if Felines, become CT vectors, transmitting it from one household to another.
Specially if it gets into the Stray Cat populations around NZ
We might have to start culling of stray cats, if we struggle to 'stamp it out'
