They should be. Domestic cats can be infected with the disease, a significant % of cats tested positive in Wuhan, cats infected in lab tests got infected and cat to cat infection has been demonstrated. The only missing data is that cat to human transmission hasn't been observed - but absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. They need to find out.

This could be a problem, if Felines, become CT vectors, transmitting it from one household to another.
Specially if it gets into the Stray Cat populations around NZ
We might have to start culling of stray cats, if we struggle to 'stamp it out'

You are stretching the point, and you know you are. If you want to cycle, then cycle, use the MTB as if it was a stabndard bicycle. But no to mountain biking, which is obviously on trails, as distinct foro pottering down the street. You already know this.

The questions seem to be a bit of a free for all, handing a cordless mic around isn't going to happen, and I guess whoever the person is trying to point a shotgun mic on a boom quickly enough to get the question coming from an unexpected anywhere has their work cut out.

My impression from the way the camera moves is that there isn't anyone there physically controlling things from a broadcast perspective. The camera appears to be working on remote control so having someone with something like a boom mic wouldn't be an option. A mic could perhaps be suspended over the gallery but it's a reasonably large space so, given that the press are somewhat of a rabble, there'd be a ton of noise coming through.

I assume TVNZ (live streaming) and Stuff live feeds use the same audio source.

But it seems that Stuff livestream and TVNZ mix the audio differently. TVNZ is in stereo, Stuff is in L+R mono - Ashley Bloomfield 100% through the left channel - press questions 100% from the right which sounds very odd. Stereo seemed much better/clearer to me - but YMMV. I didn't have any problem hearing the reporter questions today.

As a keen mountainbiker I'd simply keep it simple. Ride where there are people (if you have an accident and knock yourself out) around, stay close to home.

I'm on crutches from a crash in February. First serious crash ever on a bike. Last run of four days riding in Queenstown. Plenty of black runs and this happened going about walking speed.

Snapped my femur (broken hip). Took eight people forty five minutes to carry me out on a spine board as there was no heli access, then another two hour wait for the 4WD ambulance. Two paramedics. That was ten people I could infect if I had Covid. Not to mention possible delays once I reached the hospital.

And all this less than 2KM from the centre of town. Two months later and I'm still not allowed to put weight on it.

There is balance to be struck, between COVID-19 risk and mental health risk. People stuck at home unable to undertake recreation at all, are a risk of going troppo.

Walking leads to serious injuries too.

Moan and grizzle all you want, even stamp your feet at the same time but the most recent directive from the Director of Public Health has expressly forbidden mountain biking, hiking, swimming and surfing. So ride your bike on the road around your home and get used to it, it is all you can do for some time. At the end of the day don't be a dick and risk peoples lives.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Cats, as far as I know, still have the right under law to wander onto your property.

If one of the neighbour's cats strays on to my property, is it now a stray cat?

I am waiting for the next one to suggest skydiving as a good exercise.
