K8Toledo: 5-HTP is the precursor to Serotonin, and is (or was) commonly used when preloading before or after dropping MDMA (according to an alien that touched down in my backyard a few years ago).

Interesting. Googling 5-HTP as a Melatonin precursor I see that link is not as firmly established as I might have thought. In any case, that worked pretty well for me at the time before going the medical route.

Amitriptyline is extremely addictive. If you use it for a while you tend to need to reduce the dose very slowly, by 20% per week max. It took me a year to wean off 50mg when I had it for headaches years ago. It does help sleep a lot, but also you get weight gain and other side effects. 20mg is a fairly low dose though.

timmmay: Amitriptyline is extremely addictive.

This is not so, it's a tricyclic antidepressant used off label for sleep by millions around the world, popular choice for older people. Politically correct term is "discontinuation syndrome".

I took benzodiazepines, all the drugs ending in pam, for 23 years (a cautionary tale). 13 years of that was detox, less than 1/120 dose reduction per month.
