vexxxboy: hate to think how long the wait will be to talk to someone at Healthline

Healthine is too inefficient. How about online testing booking or an app.

Most people are sensible so its just back to daily briefings etc.

I do hope that authorities can learn from Australia, my impression reading the NSW reports over the last few weeks is that they identify business and locatiosn quickly.
We play stupid secrets , and then its up to press to out them.
In the meantime conspiracy theory channels get a boost as people are drawn to other news channels promising more info.

Its silly as letting people know locations early allows people with links to them to come forward.

Note more lunacy from Melbourne, maybe its the water  ?

Whats with that place vs NSW or anywhere else in Aussie ?

Australia's Covid response is kinda like the Spice Girls. All was well until Victoria screwed it all up.

I think we need to accept we're probably going to be in and out of alert levels until there's a vaccine. Remember they even said this could happen prior to the first lockdown. Its sad but its the reality we live in.

I wonder how many people didn't find out about the new lockdown until this morning because they didn't get the alert? I didn't get the alert txt till this morning. If I didn't check reddit before bed I never would have known. A bit stupid.

My phone was rebooting and installing an iPhone update when the alert went out last night, and the work notices about COVID came when I was in the shower this morning. Was a bit of an eye opener when I went to check what car park I have this morning at work (roster system assigns parks as day events in our calendar).

EDIT: Wasn't the second alert this morning, was some work emails

Because you can't deem someone stateless, you just can't.

You aren't tearing up their passport. Grounding airplanes or closing airspace doesn't revoke citizenship and a global pandemic should be viewed the same way.

Close the airports for all but cargo and make returning kiwis come back by ship.
There's nothing that says they have a right to return by plane.

Opinions are my own and not the views of my employer.

@CYaBro it’s easier to sanitise a plane than it is to sanitise a large ship

So I am thinking "negative" but I predict Auckland will go into Level 4 lockdown at 11.59pm on either Thursday or Friday based on more information that is made public today and the rest of the country will enter Level 3 at the same time in order to prevent spreading to the rest of the country.

The difference between levels 3 and 4 is fairly minimal, basically there is take out food and drink and online shopping..

Level 4 was rushed last time, with very few things allowed, I think you will find more on line and non contact things allowed now... so I'm not sure that we'll get back to a full hard level 4 again...

No words. And again this kind of bad news is slowly being dripped out. Supposedly 130 close contacts just in one of the infected guy's workplace. Level 4 here we go.

If we are a team of 5 million, this person deserves whatever the equivalent of a Red Card is.

There needs to be punishment to deter people from doing this: the consequences are simply too expensive and disruptive to just give people a ticking off.
