Apparently, Noel Leeming consider a $2000 Nespresso machine essential but a $200 slow cooker isn’t. That seems odd.

I'd consider them the same as office supplies, it looks like we're all going to be home schooling for a while.

Yet I can buy kettles, toasters, iPads and so on. A slow cooker is a cooker. We’re supposed to be able to buy cookers.

Waiting for PB to open.

I've got two lads and one semi-decent gaming PC. I'v been planning an upgrade of the second machine for ages and right now I'm wishing I'd got the bits for the upgrade before the event.

Essential? For domestic peace, yes.

It's also the only way I can bribe the big one into the sunshine.

Re: people asking why some products from the same category aren't available...

Often, it will be due to the stores not having enough stock within their chain - meaning they can't realistically supply.

'Good' retailers will make this unavailable... poor retailers will try and string the sale along until the point they can get stock from the (closed) suppliers.

No they aren't, but doing arts and crafts in these times can be good for mental health and wellbeing

I was hoping they'd be considered "school supplies" but The Warehouse has no school supplies listed as essential, just office stationary

Ok so it seems some stores are reopening to sell "essential goods"

Has the government said that the crisis is over?

I thought that the idea of the lockdown was to minamise human to human interaction as much as possible?

The "essential goods" stores will need staff, the items will need couriers to deliver.

I do hope that they are outfitting them in full protection gear?

That seems like a whole lot of interaction?

I just wonder how essential these goods will be when one is in the icu fighting for life worse dead?

hmm that sounds a tad melodramatic? or honest?

Far as I know, stores aren't opening, just the online bit of them, and I've seen PBTech and such saying couriers would be contactless, which I presume means no signing or it just goes in your post box.
