What would be a good $150 bike to look for ?

I was looking at the avanti blade which can be had for $200 sometimes. But now im considering an older Raleigh 10 speed or Peugeot.

Where are you? I have an old Avanti triathlon bike I dont and happy to give away. Will need a little tidying up as its been in the shed for about 12 years. I am in Wellington.

Sorry to poke my nose in here, TeaLeaf, but my wife and I have been on the lookout for a bit of a hack-bike each... she has been on a couple of cycle trails around the country on hired bikes and is trying to get me interested in non-motorised transportation.
That sounded a very generous offer you made the OP... if the bike suits we'd be happy to help you make room in your shed! (we live in Wellington).

Edit -PS. of course - happy to pay something!

If you can get Tealeaf to agree then thats fine as I kind of said I would hold it for him, but it would be nice to get it out of the shed.

You wont win any cool awards with it and it will need new tubes and probably tyres. Anyway if you guys can agree then happy to see it go.

Just keep an eye on trademe, I picked up an amazing cracker of a deal recently for a roadbike!

I reckon because of the awful awful weather recently nobody is really looking for bikes on trademe to ride at the moment, and thus demand has collapsed.

I guess the manufacturer sets the RRP, then the Briscoe type stores play with the numbers. Marketing, nuff said
