he said no but I googled it and while its not funded the net suggests it exists. kind of crazy that we dont have it here in NZ if so. next they will be leaving out other mainstream critical illness medicines.
its crazy considering the condition is one of the most common and its well known a large percentage only given thyroxine do not improve their symptoms.
No its not crazy. There is only a certain amount of money in the pot.
"In a systematic review of nine randomized trials, only one trial reported beneficial effects of combination T4-T3 therapy on mood, quality of life, and psychometric performance when compared with T4 therapy alone [50]. A subsequent meta-analysis of 11 published randomized trials including 1216 patients showed that there was no benefit (fatigue, bodily pain, anxiety, depression, quality of life) of combined therapy "
"in multiple randomized trials, almost all of which showed that combination T4-T3 therapy does not appear to be superior to T4 monotherapy for the management of hypothyroid symptoms."

If you think you benefit from dual therapy then see if you can get cytomel imported under section 29 but for Pharmac, might say the evidence isn't there, or maybe the drug company cant be bothered to register the drug here because there isn't enough profit in it for them.....
It is available through the underground gym drug scene as its used a lot during a cutting cycle. Or you could try importing yourself it's about 60$ a gram from a Chinese raws site which is a lot considering your dose will be in micrograms.
no its easier just to use dessicated thyroid, but most developed countries have cytomel. a well known fact that a lot of people have trouble converting t4 to t3. unless you are a pharmacist or mainstream dr, most people are aware of this.
its easier not argue if the answer is simply no its not.
