What brand brake pads and rotors do people recommend these days? Because it's brakes, I tend to not look for the cheapest option out there, but also don't want expensive Brembo brakes no matter how much I want them.

Holden on the North Shore in Auckland quoted me $163 for one "Police Spec" rotor, and $263 for both front wheel's brake pads, also "Police Spec". Repco had some TRW rotors for around the $170 mark also.

I will be installing them myself.

Thanks.

Why not just the normal Holden genuine ones? Not all Brembo's are the super expensive "race" kind either. Pretty sure BNT sell just normal every day car Brembo stuff.

dealer's option sounds fair. i don't know what police spec means, does it mean the police use them or is it just made up by some marketing person at the shop. but sounds fair.

The only other ones they have are the ACDelco ones which I'm not too sure about.

I think it means the rotors are slightly thicker. And the police cars do use them.
