Hi,

I am just starting to investigate how I can purchase and import a redesigned 2025 Suzuki XBee from Japan to New Zealand. I have no prior knowledge or experience with this topic. Would love to hear advice about finding a vehicle, purchasing it and arranging import. Would also love to hear about any experiences with vendors in this process.

This does not answer your question but consider looking at the ANCAP safety ratings of vehicles you are considering purchasing.

My fiancé is considering upgrading from a 15 year old Mazda to a 3-5ish year old Suzuki Jimny in the next year or so.  That would be moving from a vehicle with a 2 star ANCAP rating to a 3 star rating, which is definitely an improvement but may not be enough of an improvement for my liking.

We've not dug into details around the Jimny's 3 star rating.  At this point I've not researched and really have no idea how the ratings work.  In the Jimny's case this may mean that the chassis is well designed but the car lacks active safety features, or it may mean the car has awesome active electronic safety features but the chassis is made of tinfoil.

This is of course not pointing fingers at any one manufacturer, and of course safety features and designs improve over time.

Carwebs would be my goto, you can check the model codes for the exact version you want then see which ones are coming up for auction.

STATISTICS SALES - carwebs.co.nz

They wont bring in vehicles that cant be registered here and when you place a bid it shows the total cost incl. shipping.

You get what you wanted but have to pay and wait for shipping vs. buying at a dealer.

When you say redesigned I presume you mean facelift model, the auctions often have brand new cars listed

my next may be an Xbee or Hustler I like these types, Dynamic's reply - Hustler is a safer equivalent of JDM Jimny 660cc, almost as cute, vastly lower fuel consumption
