In case anyone is looking at insurance, we went through Cove via Sharesies and saved a heap on the renewal cost through State, rough numbers $850 vs $1250 p/a

Got an email that premium connectivity is going up to $15.99 now. Bit on the nose to send it on another day when it was having issues because of the trash network that they roam on here.

Maybe it is just the sign you have been waiting for to stop paying for it?

I know I am seriously considering cancelling the Premium connectivity subscription.

It's too useful tho. I just wish they would let you choose which network you could roam on so it was not spark with their terrible problem with long periods of dropping out. It's not that its roaming, I see it in the same places on a skinny sim and trying to report it to them is like hitting your head against a brick wall of stupid.

I thought they used Telstra, and were effectively roaming in NZ? When we stream through TuneIn we get Aussie adverts.

No justification for the 45% increase in the email. So suck it or don’t.

The connectivity has been getting worse in the same areas where it used to be fine (imo).

I think we know the justification don’t we? Sales are down and they need to pluck some low hanging fruit to pump up the revenue numbers.

They use Telstra,  but the Tesla SIMs are only roaming on Spark in NZ.

Only spark, and yesterday I had no data from the usual dead spot at the bottom of onewa road untill I was past the top of the harbour bridge. Also the known coverage problem at the top of rangitera road around to waipa street has extended till past new world on mokoia road. These are the same places I have had calls drop out on my skinny sim and it gives erratic data sessions too.

I don't really see too much of an issue with the pricing increase. They held it at $11/month for how many years now?

I haven't experienced many issues with the roaming connectivity except when in the middle of nowhere, which is to be expected, and when there was a big outage not too long ago.

It's been $11 for the whole 6 years I've had my car so, it's inevitable that it would have to go up eventually since Telstra's prices in Aus have gone up a bit in that time. Tesla can only eat the rises for so long.

I remember when a car used to be just a car. Now it’s yet another subscription service.

It's a good thing this is completely optional, and how many other vehicles offer the same features as Tesla do?

Its still worth it for the live view of the cameras, the internet radio, and the enhanced speakers.

We are not talking about your parents cars, but of internet connected software applications. For an extra $5 pm you won't even notice it.
