I am in a ducking hospital bed and have to tell people to pull their heads in?

Reporting this for bad language 😉 and working when you should be resting!
Hope all is well.

Or the Muppet I saw about to leave his SUV on the Hydrant while he picked up his precious student from Middleton Grange School!

Left it ON the Fire Hydrant - pointed out he was parked on it!

He actually argued - "so what! I won't be long!" Told me to Get F'd, gave the finger etc! I went inside after photo'ing him.

He stalked to the driveway, took photos of here, moved his vehicle!

It's really better not to engage with anyone who is doing something disruptive or anti-social. They will never accept that they're wrong.

The best that can happen is they tell you to F off. The worst that can happen is they seriously assault you.

freitasm: I am old. And I think there are muppets of all ages.

This, a thousand times this. There is no need to single out any age, ethnicity, gender  groups etc. It creates scapegoats and does not bode well for an inclusive society.

Yep my wife has a mobility card because of her knees and hips, the number of times we find fit healthy young people using them "because it was empty".

Shops don't actually care either, I have even seen mall security staff just walk past and ignore them.

And shops wonder why we do more online than in store now.

I am expecting either lights or roundabouts to be put on Napier Rd at the end of Keith Street , Roberts Line and James line to make it the preferred route for people in Kelvin Grove etc area to be able to get into town, and the 50k zone to get extended further out.

From what I've heard, they are looking at putting in lights at the intersection where Main street goes to Upper Main street/Vogel Street. This is due to the high number of accidents there. Living pretty much 2 minutes away from that intersection and using it on a daily basis, I can see the need. I agree with Roberts/James Lines getting roundabouts and lowered speed limits, not sure about the Napier Rd roundabout option though, mainly due to the awkward closeness of Limbrick street.

Nice to provide the Police the footage of the hit and run recorded here last year - but boy are the Police s l o w!

Quote from the Police: "fantastic footage, will enable me to deal with the lying so and so driver of DCL554, would you believe he said she came round the corner at speed and rear ended him?"

Ordinarily, I'd say that's a gross generalisation, but over this long weekend, nearly all of the muppets I encountered on the road were driving Utes.

It's so annoying!

I have a GPS monitoring device in my vehicle to detect if I go over 10kmh above the speed limit and report back to the business. It sends me a report every mont hand my boss occasionally gets a copy if it shows a poor pattern...he's never received one from me, as I am acutely conscious of this monitoring device and stay below 10kmh above the speed limit as much as I can, within reason.

What I do notice as a result of driving slightly above the speed limit everywhere, is that a lot of drivers drive at quite a lot over the speed limit and quite often. Who are the main culprits, from my sample size of one driver vs the world? Ute drivers.

Does my head in. I get tailgated, flashed at, beeped at and even swerved at, if I dare to be in their way, while they are desperate to get somewhere in a hurry. Especially where there's roadworks and a temporary reduction in speed limit.

The heavy traffic this morning showed again how crap aucklanders are at merging. Had one at an onramp try to push up beside about 4 cars after the one of them merged over probably a little too early. Noone let them in which was satisfying to see and they ended up behind the car they were behind on the onramp, so only 1 place ahead of where they should have been.

Also several people moving over well ahead of where 2 lanes become one and then refusing to let people merge once they got to the merge point.

OMG Yes, this is painful.  Sign says 30 but everyone is doing 70, almost like they take the sign as the required reduction from 100!

My wife pulls over and lets them pass. She prefers them ahead of her, way way ahead. She will often say well maybe they have a toilet emergency after bad curry or KFC and other times she will say bugger off you @#$!, %&*$, *&^% idiots.
