Wind the windows down! It's only 20 degrees, and help save the planet!

msukiwi:

The sheer number of School run lemmings sitting for extended periods with their engines running!

Seems to more with than without!

Actually the sheer number of people who wait in stupid places and don't have any clue in the world about the effect on others. Just took four family members to the airport and couldn't turn out of the end of their narrowish street because a mum, waiting for her kids from a school in the adjacent street, was parked on yellow lines right on the corner and a raised traffic island in the middle of the street made it impossible to get through.

When informed it was a ridiculous place to park, her reply was "I'll only be a minute". "That may be so, but you are illegally parked and traffic cannot get out of this street". She finally moved... 😡

Someone was apparently picking up one of the neighbours' teenagers. He decided to stop where he was blocking my driveway, just as I was trying to go out. The driver did not leave the driver seat throughout this entire exchange.

After about 20 seconds I thought "perhaps he hasn't seen me" so I gave the horn a little toot. No movement. A longer toot. Again, completely ignored. A decent blast. Nope. The teenager is coming down his driveway by this point and the driver has apparently decided that he's not moving until the guy's inside.

Then the teenager opens the door and two dogs jump out and start running away. Only at this point does the driver begrudgingly move forward a tad while the other guy chases down the dogs.

Walk to the corner, car in the Cycleway, photograph it and the Fulton Hogan STMS person sitting in the truck winds her window down and says "Leave them alone!"

SHEESH!

Someone with STMS on their jacket is qualified to lay out orange cones, not comment on parking laws or bylaws.

Yesterday before 1600hrs a vehicle drove over a "not in use" Works End Road Sign! They laid it flat on the roadway with a cone to mark it! In a narrow Street! (Both sides did the same!)

Why didn't they take them away?

When he put it back, he put it upright, without the cone visible to oncoming traffic! (Hidden by the sign)

I've heard 2 vehicles so far scrape their left side on it so far!

As of 1100hrs today, still no checking of the signage in the Street!

Phoned Fulton Hogan, still waiting for them to check / fix it!

(I would be committing an offence if I touched it!)

Finally corrected, they opened Hanson Lane so had to change the signs anyway!

No wonder so many people ignore signage!

This is what I mean re the signage left in the roadway!

(The ones on the far left on the grass were dumped in a heap  - by the resident - with the other on the far right!

Ugh I was the muppet this morning. Checked my mirrors before pulling out behind someone who was slow to join the motorway, but then skated over an extra lane to try and avoid getting stuck behind them again. I guess I didn't have good line of sight on the second lane as opposed to the first.

Thankfully the Corolla that was soon-to-be behind me was a lot more onto it than I was.

Have to be a bit more patient next time.

Car mounts footpath in AKL CBD to turn corner. Children on footpath walking to school.

Muppet? absolutely.

The driver rounds the corner, edging past a small group of people – including a woman with a pram.
