San Francisco officer tickets a GM Cruise autonomous vehicle for getting too close to a pedestrian on a crosswalk:

GM says the car is innocent but no video or other data released yet. The 'driver'/passenger got the ticket.

It's kind of interesting if you are a passenger in an autonomous car service and the vehicle breaks the law..

After the horrendous driving I've seen today, I can't wait for autonomous cars to be perfected and made compulsory.

There are far too many idiots on the rods.

Presume the "driver" had to take over to stop the vehicle - wonder how cops go about stopping an autonomous car without a driver (or even controls)?

Wonder how they are programmed to identify and deal with road debris???

More bad news for Uber's autonomous testing:

NZHerald: On Monday, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey suspended Uber's self-driving vehicle testing privileges, stating in a letter to CEO Dara Khosrowshahi that video footage of the crash raised concerns about the San Francisco-based company's ability to safely test its technology in Arizona.

In the same article Waymo/Google is moving ahead with more vehicle purchases for it's planned ride hail service.

Usual Herald cut-n-paste error, that suspension was just after the pedestrian was hit, which wasn't "last week" so several Monday's ago...
