Unless it was just stopped outside the pie shop there are exemptions that could apply to parking but there's no excuse for driving through a stop sign.

Today's muppet is the company doing roadworks. I was driving on a rural road late last night. I got to a "30 km/h ahead" advisory sign and a bunch of cones, so I slowed down to maybe 60-70 in anticipation of an actual 30 km/h speed limit sign. Suddenly, out of the darkness comes a section of gravel road. Naturally I slowed to 30 but it took me by surprise.

At least they were consistent: there was also no 100 sign on the other side.

Two muppets early evening on Saturday, out in the countryside near Auckland.

Young kids (maybe early-mid teens?) on small motorbikes (one of which was a dirtbike and not road-legal), riding side by side on a road with a speed limit of 80km/h at less than the limit, but more than they appeared capable of handling in the conditions.

It was wildly windy and they were barely in control, but were fanging it on their underpowered bikes holding up the traffic and being blown all over the road, while constantly looking over their shoulders and at times nearly running into each other, as they were such poorly skilled riders. Quite often at least one of them would be riding on the wrong side of the road for an extended period as well.

Traffic cop went past in the opposite direction and didn't give them a second glance. They then decided it was a bit too hot, having a cop around, so they just turned off into a side street with no indication and no looking out for traffic coming up the outside.

I'm glad neither of them was hurt during all of this, but a fall would've possibly taught them a lesson.

The sheer number of vehicles that are displaying "L" plates that ignore the Stop Sign at our corner! (Usually a driver only, in the vehicle)

Very rare for one to actually stop! (And they are teaching the next generation of drivers!)

Driving around today.,.. One person did not stop before entering the roundabout, even though I was already on my way around - and not only did not stop but actually accelerated to get in.

Another one pulled out of the car park then turned into the main traffic - without looking either way and when I pushed the horn she didn't even recognise it was for her.

Small things. Don't make them less muppets.

I've seen a couple of crashes today. Traffic is unusually busy in Auckland. It looks like a day for it.

Police have closed parts of lower Queen St for some reason. Lots of police cars around. No detours in place and all the side roads are chocka with stuck drivers trying to find a way somewhere.

we've had a construction site on the other side of our clinic for about 8 months now, there have been many questionable acts of parking on their part, but today, this is one that makes no sense when there is literally a lot where I park. Ironically, he was parked at his end of it, then decided to move his Ranger to here at 718 this morning, further away, and obviously side on to the correct parking orientation, its like he is doing it on purpose.

Is there signage to indicate that it is angle or perpendicular parking there because there sure is no lines to indicate that, the really the ute guy is doing it right IMO.

No there isn't, as there doesn't need to be to imply that a 5.5metre deep parking bay is intended to be parked front ways, not side ways. Even then, you don't park 3m from the driveway, and you certainly don't ignore what people in Rome are doing, when in Rome.

Are you defending it cos you drive a ranger? Cos no where in NZ have I seen parking bays that are 5.5m deep that require parallel parking.
