Mark:

Anyone else cringe when they see the passenger in a car with their feet up on the dash ?

Well that one appears to be deliberate.
It is an old/no longer used roadsign.
There is a manhole/service cover under the sign which is being 'protected'.

It would have been a real muppet moment if they hand't used the sign.
I'd just put it down to the good ole Kiwi No 8 wire mentality...

Even better than an old sign is one belonging to another roading company. I wonder if the permanent fix will include lifting the old cover to be level with the new road surface or will it be a new pothole.

Though usually they do the road markings after they expose and raise the manhole covers.

Road safety campaigns have come a long way.

Still, gotta love that RP! 😆

Muppet of the first order on the NWestern this afternoon, guess they thought they “needed” the Gt Nth off-ramp but actually wanted the tunnel instead.Might not be clear on the video but I had to brake hard to avoid them clipping me. Class idiot.

Today's entry in the hall of infamy is the driver of T1SHA, who apparently couldn't be bothered with stopping at a stop sign for a left turn so instead mounted the kerb, rounded the corner on the footpath, then went back onto the road again.

Just witnessed a Christchurch City Council SUV (Logo'd) blast straight through the Stop sign here. (Like over a thousand other vehicles per month!)

He didn't even do a "rolling stop"....it was at speed!

Called the CCC to complain....got the feeling nothing will happen!

I dread driving at night at the moment. Modern cars have dazzling lights even when they're adjusted properly, let alone all the fools that drive with fog lights on, day running lights on (at night! Clue is in the name pal.) and loaded up vehicles which tip the lights higher.

And then there's some absolute tools who don't seem to know what the little blue light on the dash means and probably also wonder why they can see so well at night. It's because you're on full beam !!

On the way to work this morning.

I brake for the Orange light, the car behind me honks its horn, changes lanes, then drives through the intersection...

Reminds me of last weekend. I'm going at 110 (the limit), a car comes up behind (probably doing at least 130) and pulls into the other lane without indicating, then pulls back in front of me without indicating, drives for about another five seconds then pulls into the offramp without indicating, and then indicates around the natural bend in the offramp.
