Be interested in the change on the new cars for road noise.

Chip seal is certainly annoying to drive on esp as it becomes the dominating noise in the car

Should be able to do comparison between the M3 and Golf highline soon. The Golf engine/transmission wise is very quiet on a smooth surface and honestly not that more noticeable than the couple of EVs I have been in, however hit chip seal and it makes a hell of a noise. It has good Continental tyres on it which may make it worse, not really sure.

i read the LFP on the SR+ can be charged to 100%

that means the other battery on the Performance should not be charged to 100%?

For the Performance and Long Range you can for trips but not daily. You also shouldn't let them sit at 100% for more than an hour or two either. 90% should be the max you charge them to daily.

As you said thought, the SR+ from China with the LFP pack is perfectly fine with always being charged to 100%

Is there a way to stop to charging when they get to 90%?

Here is a good video of the new Model S Plaid and the crazy speed it has which is worth watching, which just came out yesterday. Doug does talk about build quality and paint quality, anyone have any issues like that with the model 3?

Paint and build on mine is fine, but all our 3's come from China now so not subject to the same California rules on paint etc, and from a much more modern plant too.

There is a channel called RSymons RSEV on YouTube. He compared in great detail the Chinese and US cars. Iirc no difference overall between the 2 plants. Vs German cars wasn't compared.

But imo you don't buy tesla for build quality. You buy it for

- battery life/weight
- power/$
-? Charging network

The Sr+ should now come with the new headlights. I do know though that some older models that were imported did not.

This new headlight system looks like it could me LED matrix. If so a software update in future could give the lights the ability to black out segments meaning you can drive with your headlights on full beam all the time and they black out segments for oncoming cars. I haven’t seen this before but I have read reviews about the 911 system and they called the system “magical”.

Yeah thats the thoughts on them, lots of software updates to come, I think they've been distracted by microcontroller shortages most of this year

i don't thnk you can just software update the LED matrix system.

it's a system that requires hardware - sensors, a processing unit, and motorized LED lights.

if the model 3 have those hardware then yes you can do a software update to enable the system.
