Oh one other thing about voice command - again a number of people fedback that asking the car to "Open Driver Windows" or "Open Front Passenger Window" opens the wrong side.  I've only tried it once but mine opened on the correct side so not sure what is happenning. In any case I won't need to use voice command to open / close windows - prefer to use the buttons on the driver side door.  But on the other hand, using voice command to control the air-conditioning is pretty cool - you can try saying "Hu BYD its too cold" and the car will turn up the temp by 1 deg.  Apparently the updates also incorprate improvement to the air conditioninng function itself.

I did not know about those commands for the air con. Is there a doc that lists all the commands? I did try Hey BYD navigate to <blah> and it said that command is not available yet so it must be planned.

On the air con front about 2 weeks ago we have an unusually warm day in Wellington and it was quite warm in the car.  Despite cranking the AC all the way down (to the Lo setting) I didn't seem to be able to get cold enough air coming out. So I took the car into the dealer and they said it was fine (running to spec) and compared with another ATTO3 and it was the same.  I know from my other cars if I turn the AC way up (or the coolest) I can feel quite cold air coming out of the vents so this behaviour was unusual.

Apologies for the late reply.

Firstly, the voice commands.  There isn't really user manual per-se on how to get it to recognise commands, but from memory, if you go into the Main Menu (Home Screen), scroll to the right to see a list of all apps installed, with the update BYD have installed an app called "BYD Assist" or something like that?  On my car it is now the very first app in the list.  If you launch that app there is a page/setting option on voice commands including listing down the commands you can use - give that a go and see how you get on?

With regards to the a/c - I did find it slow to heat up and cool down (I didn't really need to use cooling function earlier), but it has improved a little since the updates.  A lot of people are still complaining that the a/c is slow to heat up and cool down tho, so perhaps that might be the "norm" in the Atto 3?

bright red car paint with lush blue interior? can't be serious!

The red was not available in NZ so this must be an Australian photo. Looks very nice but I am happy with my blue

BYD NZ is bringing in the red, available for order now and apparently some people have ordered it and are saying ETA is Nov...

Had that problem also. Open Drive Window and the passenger's side window opened!  3D maps is pretty nice as you can see from this:

And yes I do agree the 3D maps are pretty nice.  I had mine display set to dark mode initially, and with dark mode you loose the 3D building view - at least it is not very visible.  I only realise how nice looking they were when I switched my display to day (auto) mode.  So I've now left it at auto - at least I get to enjoy the 3D maps during the day.  Again some people have asked about the possibility of controlling the day/night mode of the maps independently from the car's global display view settings.

if it is exactly the same car it will be a box tick,

They probably wont even need a  physical test as ANCAP and euroNCAP became fully aligned in 2018..

it says it's missing an anchor point for child seat in middle seat position.

none of my cars have one! i jus creatively route the anchor to the side anchor points using the headrest as safety "mod".

yikes all of my cars are illegal in AU

Well I have had my first issue with the car.  Turned the car on and a message came up advising me I needed service. Since I have only driven 800km it seemed unlikely to be a scheduled service so called the dealer who advised the first scheduled service is at 5000km. Then noticed Spotify had stopped working and only worked when connected to my phone or home WiFi. So the 4G card might have an issue.

Anyway have scheduled a service visit and will find out what the issue is.
