Didn't think it had track mode - if it doesn't have the upgrade?

If you got the Performance model without the upgrade back when the Model 3 first became available to order in NZ then you have what's known as the "Performance Lite" model. You get all the same performance and software features as the Performance model with the upgrades but without any of the hardware upgrades (larger brakes, larger wheels, carbon fibre spoiler, etc). Essentially, you have a sleeper Model 3!

Ok then - well I didn't realise that! Might need to schedule a track visit then...

If anyone is thinking of purchasing and would like 1500 free supercharger kms (you would be mad not to!), you can use my referral link below (I will also get 1500 kms as I am sure you know)

I used the link from a bloke my wife met on the side of the road who was instrumental in convincing her a Tesla was the way forward ;)

Haha So I contacted Telsa about a test drive and they said the only way to get a test drive, is to put down a deposit to buy one and wait 3-4 weeks!

They're rather slammed at the moment. There's quite a queue of people waiting for a test drive (all those that have a reservation, such as myself) so I think they want a serious indication that you're wanting to buy to give you a test drive slot. Eventually once things calm down they'll open test drives up to everyone.

Yeah. I am not in a screaming hurry, I had just never encountered it before.

What I want is a Model 3 Wagon :)The first person to make a high performance wagon in EV will get my money I think.

It looks like at least 51 Model 3 cars have been delivered so far.

Those haven't all been delivered yet. My VIN is on that list, so I now have my rego, but the car is still in transit.

I admire your patience.

If it was me, I would had to fly to Auckland to pick it up and do a ‘roady’ home.

We have a 5 week old baby and 3YR toddler - if I had left to do a `roady` I might have come home to an empty house...

That's not such a bad thing ;p
If you'd been locked out of the house that's be different, although you might take that as an excuse to see the South Island for a fortnight.
