I have a ryobi one+ one that I have in the car with a full 4Ah battery most of the time. But I also have a spare tyre, an AA membership and a tyre iron that is quite heavy.

I carry a compressor, spade, snatch strap, jump start kit and basic tool kit.

I take my SUV in the desert so these are all necessary. Driving on sand dunes without deflating is a great way to get bogged.

I assume the punishment for vandalising (or interfering with) someone’s car in your part of the world might be slightly different to here though? Inflator for optimising off-road experience, yes. Inflator to recover from someone being a pious dick, not so much.

Bung: If you "need" an SUV you possibly already have to let air out for more traction and then re-inflate.

These activists aren't slashing tyres but who knows how nutty it will get? You might be getting macho with someone with a knife. Leave it to the Blue Gang in their stab proof vests.

Need?  I needed a good AWD tow vehicle with lots of height between seat and roof.  The SUV I bought was my only realistic choice, other than a ute.

For serious off-roading, I have another set of rims and tyres.  But, we do deflate the road tyres somewhat for beach launching.

Ge0rge: Yes, and for similar reasons to MikeAqua. Mine is hard-wired with a small reservoir and has an air fitting in both front and rear bumpers for easy access. Has enough free air delivery to run pneumatic tools cause who's got time for tire-irons when you can use ooga-doogas instead?

I should do this.  There is probably room under the Pajero somewhere.  I have an 18V cordless rattle gun, but air would be better.

rhy7s: Do you also carry spare valve cores? The easiest way to deflate a tyre would be unscrewing them.

Just in case the spare tyre is also flat when I need it. Ive had that happen.

This is the air compressor I carry in my car. It did not break the bank.
It's for tyres, etc. Not for tools.

These don’t seem to be available as an accessory from the official store any more. I’m interested though, when you used the compressor, did you use the goo as well? I have heard varying opinions on the goo’s usefulness in tires that have the acoustic foam in them, and it’s affect on the TPMS.

I have the Xiaomi compressor, and a foot pump as backup. I wasn’t sure how the LiIon accessory battery would cope with a compressor you run off the 12V system.
