It is so far, but I have only driven it back from the shipping depot. Waiting on confirmation of insurance before I really give it a working over. Beautiful car tho, and from the short drive I did, very very peppy! Even managed to get autopilot calibrated before I got home so managed to do some auto-driving - impressive tech.

I’d love to get one. Did you get the standard or long range one? What kind of charger do you have at home? I’d love to see some pics and possibly a little mini review of your thoughts on the car and how you think auto pilot is on Nz roads, does it have all of the same features that the us version of autopilot has?

Autopilot will have all the same features as it does in the US, however the Full Self Driving (FSD) add-on won't. Notably, it's missing Navigate on Autopilot where it can suggest and move into lanes on the motorway and take exits all on its own as well as Advanced Summon, where it will drive to your location in a car park.  Apparently these need to approved for use in NZ.

Got the Long Range Performance model without the Performance hardware - i.e. it looks like a standard Model 3 but it has Track Mode etc.

They come with the Wall Charger and a portable charger (which is pretty good I reckon - think they charge you $500 for the wall charger overseas). I have a sparky booked to come and wire up a 32A circuit for the charger.

Not likely to have time for a review sorry - got a newborn in the house so going to struggle to find time to actually take this thing for a drive for a few weeks at least!

The Porsche Taycan was formally announced last night. In spite of not having seen one, let alone driven one, I have put my name down on the waiting list for NZ delivery.

Will be getting it in Q4, 2020.

Nice - my boss has got his arriving any day now as well.  His father got his earlier this week and loves it.

Did you get the standard or long range one?

The Motor Vehicle database has now been updated so its now possible to find out lots of juicy details

of the 57 registered in August, 31 were long range, 26 were standard,

The most popular colour was blue (16) closely followed by silver (15) and black (14) 8 were white and 4 red....

26 went to Auckland, 15 Christchurch 6 to Dunners. .. there is a smattering around rural South island,  + one for Coromandel...

So it looks like those in Wellington and the rest of the North island will start to get their vehicles in September

Linuxluver:

I don't include the EA levy and lines charge because they are fixed amounts for the connection (at my house, anyway) and I'd be paying them even if I didn't have an EV. They aren't relevant as additional costs incurred because I have an electric car.

The EA levy is paid per kWh you use, so you need to add that to the kWh you use to charge your car, if you didn't use that electricity then you wouldn't pay it
