The EV6 arrived in NZ after the Ioniq 5 - both are part of a newer range of EVs from both manufacturers, built on an EV-only platform (their first?), as opposed to earlier models like the Niro and Ioniq, which could be bought in ICE, hybrid (or PHEV?) forms.

i have tried to find out but to no avail

is it important to heat the battery during cold days? will it give better range?

EDIT - just watched the Bjorn Geilo test - looked at norway models they all have heat pump as well as the auxilary heater, the outside temp was -3C, and the battery remained at 1C for the entire drive no attempt to heat the battery (battery heater 0)

website says LR now 79,990 + ORC

does that mean it no longer qualifies for rebate?

That is right, unless ORC is no more than $9.99.

LOL - that would be wishful thinking.

It won't be eligible for the rebate. It's a silly price to be honest. They will lose a lot of sales for the sake of not lowering it by 1k.

Unless the ORC is only $9, it no longer qualifies for the rebate.

The government is already making noises about tweaking the scheme. So unless you can get a vehicle in the short term, the scheme may have a different rebate amount. Or if the is a change of government, because of the bluster surrounding “the Ute Tax”, there may be no rebate at all for vehicles.

I am now looking at future decisions with the view that there may be no rebate.

Of course the tweaking may involve an inflation adjustment to the threshold making it ~$86K. Although that will probably just allow importers to set their price at $85990 for the base models.
