afe66: I certainly would get a type 2 cable.

Not sure if this was directed at me, but yep I’ve bought a T2 cable; michaelmurfy was kind enough to drop it off for me. Yep, I’m really not sure if I’ll use it too much, but would rather be prepared than left wanting (especially if slower chargers move towards a BYOC approach).

I'm not sure what you mean by the heater remaining on. The heater should be tied to the temperature you set the climate to.

Hope you get yours in the September shipment. It is such a nice car to drive. When did you order?

Apparently "El bil" in Spanish means "the bill", let's hope that is not going to be the case. Although I have already used way more to buy the car than ever before. AND I have used more money for accessories than I have ever done. So in that sense it is "the bill" :D

"Electricity bill" is funny though, because having shopped around for electricity we are going to be saving money on our new plan, even with charging the car at home all the time.

But no, "Elbil" does not refer to any of those meanings ;)

Hey guys, for those of you that have got your Model Y's, how was the build quality? Panel gaps etc. I have a Performance Model Y coming in Nov - Feb. Ordered on 1st Jul so am hoping for a November delivery, but we'll see. Patience is not a virtue for me.

I've already installed a Gen 3 charger at my house in preparation and ordered a heap of accessories from tessories this week - frunk mat, all weather floor mats, boot mat, lower boot map, matte screen protector, mud flaps.

It's probably some Norwegian slang for something related to being a Elon Believer, as he's Norwegian. /j

Have to admit I don't have the eagle eye for such details. But I think it looks good. And the reviews of the Shanghai cars have been good with people that know how to spot good/bad panel gaps.

Was hard waiting from 10 June to 22 August when I got my Y, so I know your pain. No fun waiting and the estimated delivery time can be a little bit of a roller coaster. I was one of a few that didn't have any estimated delivery time from Tesla until the car was in NZ.. And even after that it changed multiple times.

I am surprised there was anything left in their warehouse after I did my shop :D

Tesla Model Y most sold car (by first registrations) in New Zealand in September. Yes, you read that right. Most sold car - not most sold EV.

Here is the top 10 EV list:

Oh and looking at the year so far: Almost as many Model Ys as Model 3s have been registered in New Zealand.

Tesla Model 3: 2104
Tesla Model Y: 2093

Interesting data. I didn’t realise that so few M3s came in last month - IIRC more M3s were registered than MYs in August, but the Sept delivery must have been close to exclusively MYs.

The funny thing is in the city I live the MY is still a really uncommon sight - I’ve seen one or two and know of one or two others.

@jarledb: how are you enjoying your car? Anything you find frustrating about it? And, also, what’s your charging regime? At the risk of bringing this up again [as I raised recently on the M3 thread!] are you frequently charging to 100%?

Kind of reminds me of a scene from a movie in the Scary Movie franchise, where all the pent up ‘demand’ is released at once 😁.
