I know that I don't want t a bubble looking car. Performance wise nothing too flash but not some rattly old banger. My grandpa grade falcon goes fast enough to get me sufficient problems.

The more I think about it the older mr2 seems good. A Chrysler crossfire looks almost doable but will have to wait a bit till I see what is left after the kitchen is sorted.

You're right, most look like ladies cars to some degree.... esp the Porsche Boxster (my own opinion of course).

Although, if anything I think the S2000s look the best for the price you pay for them.

The Chrysler Crossfire besides being incredibly ugly it is an awful vehicle with one of the worse gearboxes of recent times.

Convertibles are either very heavy and as such perform poorly and drink lots of fuel or they handle and ride badly due to poor body rigidity.

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

I think the crossfire looks great, whats wrong with the gearboxes? Just sloppy to drive or do they have breakdown issues?

I guess a Mazda RX8 Convertible would fit in with your requirements. Google image search suggests some do exist.

The manual has a tendency to jump out of gear especially 1st when say taking off at the lights. Both the Manual and Autos have some odd ball ratios and the Auto can be very lazy in its shifting.

The Americans took a Mercedes and wrecked it.

fugly looks, poor build, crap driving rules out the chrysler misfire.

stick to an mx5, not at all girly unless you get an auto.

or bump up the budget and buy a used porsche boxster.

gotta agree !

as much as the misfire is despised, a z4 isn't much better, unless it's a z4m.

Oh I was joking.I think given the budget he should go for Toyota mr2 or s2000. Although I think the best option for his budget is to not get a convertible
